Worshipping at the RAltar

In gratefulness to RA for keeping my sanity intact on my flight from to hell, I have offered sacrificial gifts on the RAltar aka the “Portable Shrine”. Let’s open the doors…

Can you spot the new addition? With my latest acquisition the number of Thorins in my shrine rises to 3. Sir Guy is getting jealous… And he has much reason for that because Thorin #4 has also arrived.

photo 2 Isn’t he amazing? This is Thorin courtesy of craftress extraordinaire, Agzy. He was waiting for me upon my arrival from my trip. Carefully wrapped and cushioned, the cantankerous king shook his mighty mane and unblinkingly stared me down.

The detail of this little stocking face is just brilliant. He even has a braid with a bead! The grey streaks in his luscious tresses and his full beard, plus the authoritative eyebrows make him unmistakably the revered King under the Mountain. Currently awaiting further deployment, he is the Prince over my Desk, keeping watch while I work.

Brilliantly made, Agzy! Thank you so much for this little piece of art. He is to die for. I shall cherish him and guard him jealously!

If you have missed Agzy’s post where she showed how she made him, check this link.

PS: We have a gained a few more participants for the RAworld Secret Valentine. Names shall be assigned later today. I’ll be in touch with you via e-mail!

    • Nah 😉 Guy is getting special make-up treatment from me *ggg*.
Talking of Guy – I wonder what stocking face Guy would look like… Maybe we should challenge Agzy to make Guy, too 😀

      • Um.. with Thorin on them or being him — 2 action figures, 5 tee shirts, a night shirt, 3 cups, 3 book marks, 2 POP, 1 picture with cel from the first movie, 2 DVDs, 3 calendars, (had 4 sent one to a friend), 1 wall sticker,2 heroclix, 2 3D bookmarks, 1 stamp. 3 Legos. This does not include all the other Hobbit stuff that has him somewhere in it or is attached to him including his 2 swords (letter openers), several books, including activity books, 3 necklaces, (1 is his belt, 2 are keys), 2 pens, a charm bracelet (sword, hobbit door, ring, bird, dragon, wizard, arkenstone), the other stamps, the other legos, the well, you get the idea….

        • LOL – OMG. I think your collection is the most expansive I have heard of. Do I detect a tiny bit of obsession in there *ggg*? Wait, it’s all Orcrist’s fault, right? He is the one who’s showering you with the gifts! Cool, though!

  1. Hey, lucky you- you are abundantly blessed! Glad you made it home safely, Guylty- maybe take a guardian angel with you next time you fly!

    • I think you are right. I am certainly very very lucky with my life! Friends, family, travels, jobs… Maybe I need a shrine to the universe as well 🙂 Oh, and I am officially making RA my guardian angel. He did very well on Tuesday 🙂

  2. Awww… I’m so happy he has found a new home 🙂 My Thorin is still blinded and with craft projects seriously stalled, it may stay that way for a while.
Anyway, I’m off to start thinking of the Tumblr Valentine’s event and the RAworld Secret Valentine 🙂 It’s all hearts and Richard in these here parts and I wouldn’t want it any other way! 😉

    • All hearts indeed. And Thorin is indeed a proper piece of art. My daughter was immediately able to identify him. Oh, and BTW – my hubster was slightly put-out by the double-barrel name you wrote on the envelope *muhahaha*. I, OTOH, approved fully. 😀 Thanks again, you lovely, lovely thing *ggg*

  3. Would be ROFL (but I’m @ Dr.’s…) so just stifling crazy laughter! : 1. ADORE newest Thorin in the shrine; 2. Zoomed-in on phone to look @ detail when stepped out of room; 3. Stepped back in room to nurse (know her from another job: thinks all fantasy/sci-fi is ‘for dumb people’, ‘waste of time’) who asked, “Is that Thorin? Did you make that? That’s really good!” When I picked jaw up off floor (SHE knew who it was, by name!) proudly told her that I knew of someone who HAD made it. She didn’t say anything about the other dwarves… 4. If one (or more!) of “the boys” could benefit from a little getaway, my door is always open!
