Can there ever be enough Richard Armitage on your dash/screen/blog? Probably not. And yet, I feel it’s almost a bit of an overkill at the moment. Or maybe what *appears* to me as an over-abundance of new material is really a reflection of my own inability to keep up with things. Tbh, I have been too busy avoiding spoilers and simply getting into the mood for saying good-bye to Thorin. In times like these, tumblr is a god-send because it hacks the available material into easily consumable tidbits, so you get the gist without having to over-indulge ;-).
Having said that – the round-up looks a bit short this week – despite four massive events with much opportunity for news about RA: Brazil ComicCon Experience, PJ’s Hollywood Star of Fame ceremony, LA premiere and NYC Apple Store event. However, while those four events (plus Armitage’s on-going vanity selfie project took up loads of space, it consisted mainly of reams of photo posts and re-blogs which you will already have seen on either me+richard or armitageagonistes. No point in me linking to them again. To be honest with you, I am looking forward to post-Christmas times when things will calm down. A lull is usually more conducive to original fan reaction than times of overload…
So here is what tumblr had to offer this week:

convincinghot biker as yassenaa’s post of Paulina Wach’s artwork shows - For an absolutely fabulous, detailed photo documentation of the London premiere and the run-up to it, check my-edits-have-no-remorse. She/he photographed the whole two days of getting ready for the premiere: set-up, wristband queuing, TorN party and the premiere itself. Thoriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin *weeps* Thank goodness I have already booked a ticket for the mid-day IMAX 3D screening of BOTFA on Monday. No one knows I am going… pssssst

Übrigens bist du nicht die einzige, der dir Flut gerade ein bisschen zu viel ist. Bei mir wartet noch einiges darauf, dass ich es in Ruhe genieße. Ich kann das nicht, so viel auf einmal … Das hat dann so einen Beigeschmack von “Pflichterfüllung” oder so, und statt mich darüber zu freuen, merke ich dann, dass ich hauptsächlich deshalb gucke, weil es eben neu und aktuell ist und “man das gesehen haben muss”, und eigentlich fliegt es irgendwie vorbei, und ich nehme es nicht wirklich auf. – Ergibt das irgendwie Sinn?

Ich musste mich übrigens nicht hinter den Bus schmeißen. War alles ok, und auch obwohl die Tränen flossen, war ich hinterher noch lebensfähig. Hatte ja auch die Kinder dabei 😀
“Pflichterfüllung” beschreibt es ganz gut. Ich vernachlässige diese Fan-Pflichten derzeit. Besonders viel verpasst man ja sowieso nicht, da in den Promo-Interviews sowieso immer dieselben Fragen gestellt werden. Ich lese dagegen ganz gerne die Artikel – die sind dann oft aufschlussreicher. Und ansonsten freue ich mich, dass ich noch ganz viel Material für langsame Tage haben werde 😉

@igelchen Ja, macht Sinn, mir geht es genauso! Versuche gerade alles “abzuarbeiten” was in den letzten Tagen so passiert ist, dabei sollte man es doch eigentlich genießen, schwelgen und schmachten!
@Guylty der Sweater ist klasse! Erinnert mich an ein blaues Norwegerexemplar, das man ihm auch besser ausgezogen hätte und an eine tolle Szene mit einer Rüstung *smile*

Enjoy your BOFTA viewing, Guylty! Wishing you excitement, and a little jealous of all the riches you RA fans have been enjoying. Nothing like that at the moment for My Guy, but he has several films in the can, so we have hopes for a (relatively quiet) premiere or two.

He’s in Rhode Island making a film about a young American boxer who broke his neck, but then came back to win a title. He plays the dad. It’s a good role, but they have dyed his hair white! It cracks me up because he’s got root coverage issues, but the roots are black!

And OMG n. 12 : I think this fans girl would have the same expression if she wins a lot of money with a lotery. Lol. And finally the wonderful portrait of Thorin. Really really majestic as the original.

I really did enjoy the film, yes. Thorin’s story was really well set into scene, and RA certainly proved his acting credentials there. The ending was really my problem – and not Thorin’s ending, but the film’s. I am seeing it again tomorrow and hope to come to a conclusion then.

Lebenszeichen :-D. Ich bin nicht hinterm Bus gelandet 😉 sondern habe gestern nur einen Weihnachtstag eingelegt. Shopping und making. (Das Töchterchen wünschte sich einen Umhang, so a la Gandalf, mit Kapuze und bodenlang. Da musste Muttern am Rad drehen – am Nähmaschinenrad 😀 )

Och, so’n Umhang ist ja ein äußerst simples Konzept. Dazu braucht man kein Schnittmuster, sondern nur logisches Denken. Ich bin auch eigentlich nicht so das Nähmonster. Überhaupt bin ich grundsätzlich eigentlich immer the Queen of Improvisation. Schnittmuster wären der Horror für mich.

Ich habe es nur ein paar wenige Male versucht in meinen frühen Jugendtagen. Bin dafür aber nicht wirklich geduldig genug. Habe jedenfalls meine Mutter sehr bewundert, die uns Kinder mit Klamotten förmlich überzogen hat. Und wenn die Hosen zu kurz waren, kamen die unvermeindlichen Borten unten dran. Und die waren gerne geblümt. Egal, ob die Hose kariert war, oder nicht. DAS waren noch Zeiten! Unbeeinflusst von irgendeinem modischen Schnickschnack oder gar Gespür. Da lebte es sich deutlich entspannter 🙂

It would but my head is so full of BOTFA 🙂 but it is trickling through i needed to get out if the house after being holed up for nearly a week. I trust Wagner will make an impact always does. Genau, die Rhapsodie. Hab’s gerade zu Ende gehört. Fantastisch. Dafür bin ich sogar am Abend des anvisierten Geburtstermins meiner Tochter noch ins Konzert gegangen. Musste erst Brahms über mich ergehen lassen – und habe dabei wohl so entvernt gestöhnt, dass der Gatte dachte, die Wehen hätten eingesetzt. 😀
