Damn, I am really inflexible when it comes to re-designs. Tumblr apparently decided to restyle and -organize itself this week, and being the last-minute type that I am, I only encountered the fuck-ups challenges that brings on the eve of the weekly round-up. *arrrrrrrrrrrrgh* I’ll do my very best here, today, but I suspect it may not be a particularly long collection of note-worthy links. Bear with me while I try and find my feet again…

Anyway, those are just niggles. Let’s concentrate on pleasant things – like the #CrucibleGlobalView on Twitter that is apparently happening today if I can find a way of downloading or streaming the bloody thing… still not happy here, and tomorrow’s announcement of the Olivier Award recipients. It would’ve been lovely if Mr A could’ve attended the ceremony, especially in the event of him actually pocketing the award. But then again, there is as much honour, compliment and distinction in being nominated as there is in winning. My fingers are firmly crossed and I am “holding my thumbs” in good old German tradition for extra luck, Mr A. Go on, ya good thing! And bloody hurry up there in Hannibal-Land.

Xkit sweetie. Xkit. I took a 30 minute reprieve from my hiatus to answer email and check a few things when that horrific redesign took place and Mr Xkit Man had fixed the majority of it by the time I logged off!!!!

I’ve found it easier to deal with Tumblr idiocies WITH Xkit. I can completely block and ignore specific people and MOST subjects. 🙂 My blood pressure has come down significantly since I installed it!

True. I had it installed a while ago, but it kept upsetting tumblr to the point of refusing to load. But it is very useful indeed, not just for blocking etc, but with lots of other helpful things.

I am completely side-blinded by the amount of interest in the Asides. I had a nice conversation on Tumblr last night with someone wondering if it was ‘the story’ or ‘history in itself’ that drew me to writing them. Really, it’s simply the filling out of Manna, not to mention I felt Guy came to his own and was redeemed too late in RH. I wanted to see that ‘growth’ into WHO he was continue and this was the perfect vehicle.

I think the Asides (and your motivation for them) make perfect sense. In a way you “shot yourself in the foot” by inventing a character that had to be reborn again and again to cover the course of 700 years 😉 Much to the benefit of your readers. I see much scope for novel-length further development of some of the Guy reincarnations. Bring it on.

Well Manna IS being reworked into an original piece of fiction. IF I stopped writing fanfiction, I’d get it done a LOT faster! LOL!
I also considered writing Nemo straight out as an original, but for some odd reason….

Great selections as usual. I especially enjoyed Roman Richard. There is something about a man in uniform, even if he has to wear feathers on his head.

Khehehe, I never even *regarded* that as a uniform. Not too fond of the legs. But did like the breast-plate 😉 And better to have feathers on head than on bum…

Oh i liked Guy i think sort of mid way S1 when i saw him begging like a worm for Marian :-p Of course i went like everyone else ‘ohhh, ahhhhh, poor Guy! being chated on and used oooohhh’. And then i still wanted to kick his bloody backside every time he killed somebody! Kind believe i can like a killer, somebody who put a child out in the woods and so on.. how dare he make himself liked like this? And i know the S3 looks are OTT but they certainly do it for me girl, sod reality and all that 🙂 I still have S3 to finish but i’ll come back on more about Guy and his endless wealth of expression! He should have been nominated for some award for it too, i think!

best leathered arse? *ooops* nah, that’s too snarky… Forget I said that. He’s not just a sex object. *coughs* No he really isn’t. He has many faults, and some of his actions are definitely evil and questionable. But he did also save people from the sheriff, and not just Marian. So yeah, I think he is – much against the intention of the makers – a redeemable character veering towards the positive, and therefore lovable. *ehm* Do I protest too much???

totally agree, i think he’s loveable because he’s so conflicted and so much is going on inside, he’s ambitious and insecure sometimes, driven and determined in other instances, evil at time but with a purpose and not really or seldom cruel. I think it is his struggles that keep us rooting for him to make it and want to hug him when he fails 🙂 And yes the peaches coughs 😉

Hello Guylty ! A perfect time to read your Round-up with my cup of tea. As usual I liked almost everything. But N03 : the sentence from Graham MacTavish has litterally broken my heart. Not because of what he is saying but because he put “Richard” instead of “Thorin” and when I have read this sentence for the first time it’s really made my tears falling down. But hopefully “our” lovely man is alive and may be coming to take a wonderful prize. I am so happy he has been nominated for the Olivier Awards. I really would like he gets it.
