Before I get to the frippery flippancy of the latest portable shrine, let me pass on a message of thanks to you. This arrived in my mailbox on Tuesday:
I am passing this on to all of you who took part in the Charity Auction and helped Save the Children! Thank you!
As part of the auction I had pledged to send a token thank you to all participants and created a number of little RAPSoids. Since I had only 16 little Altoids smalls tins at my disposal but 20 participants who bid and donated to the project, I had to make a few alternative mini-RAPSes. One such RAPSoid was due for Suzy@Silverbluelining. And since she visited Ireland in May and went on a little road trip with me, I gave her RAPSoid an Irish theme. (I would have liked to find another “Connemara Kitchen” mint tin like the ConnemaRA RAPS I made for Helen, but unfortunately they were sold out in the place where I had snapped it up before…)
To stay with the Irish theme. there was only one choice of scenario for her RAPSoid:
The world’s tallest dwarf, jogging through the Connemara countryside. He’s even got his red hair on…
You could say, we went on a “Hermitage Tour” (Reisen means “travels, tours” in German) together. Unfortunately, no Hermitages (or Armitages) were discovered in the process… But we had much fun nevertheless.
So there we are. This is only a small thank you for Suzy’s donation – and for the parcels she has sent me, containing my beloved “housewife porn” which, if I may point out, does not include images of a certain OOA in states of undress, but is my other guilty pleasure – interior design magazines, materials for shrining, sweets and peanut puffs… And for providing another reason for enjoying the beauty of Ireland on our road trip together. If the opportunity arises again – I am on 🙂

Beautiful job. It is quite lovely and a fine example of beautiful Irish art. Suzy has a perfect companion for her travels when you are unavailable.

The tin would’ve been even more suitable, if Mr A were Irish… Could he please go on Who Do You Think You Are? I’d like to know whether he has an Irish great-granny somewhere in his bloodline 😉

Hehe, frisch aus dem Reiseprospekt. Bis auf den Holzpflock korrekt (das war nur das Schild zum Hochhalten). Ob ich die Geschäftsidee umsetzen sollte? Bezahlt mich auch jemand für meinen Service???

LOL Ja, ich weiß, dass der Holzpfock die Haltestange vom Schild ist. 😀
Wobei ich im Moment dazu tendiere, das Schild als Kreuz zu deklarieren, es auf den Kopf zu stellen und gegen Predigten einzusetzen. Echt, nee … *Augen roll*

Ich sag nur eins: Immerhin ist er ja konsistent mit seiner Anti-Bullying-Strategie. Und offenbar ist das von Cybersmile abgesegnet. Gut für sie.
Und aus der Tatsache, dass es Diskussionen effektiv nicht gibt, entnehmen wir, dass sie auch nicht gewünscht ist. Auch ne Message.

Ja manchmal hat man das dringende Bedürfnis 🙂 ihn beim Wort zu nehmen. Aber darauf lässt er sich ja auch nicht ein, ist einfach zu weit weg und stellt sich nicht der Konfrontation,sprich Diskussion….

Habe gerade erst Deinen Post gesehen (war heute den ganzen Tag bei der Kind-aus-Schule-Verabschiedung mit ca. 200 Fotos), ja er ist knuffig, süß, passt wunderbar zu meinem “Großen” und ist eine wunderschöne Erinnerung an ein tolles Wochenende! Es hätte auch mit dem Ritter nicht besser sein können, wer braucht schon Ritter wenn sie tolle Mädels hat?

Ja war alles sehr schön, tolle Feier, berührende Momente für Eltern und Lehrer und sogar unserem Rektro blieb beim Erzählen zwischendurch zweimal die Stimme (incl. Tränchen) weg….. und ich habe ganz viele Fotos geknipst. Mein “Kleiner” programmiert gerade eine Internetseite, wo alle Eltern ihre Fotos hochladen können und sich die bereits vorhandenen Fotos runterladen können. Damit ist der Kelch der Alleinverantwortlichen an mir vorbei gegangen 🙂

Hehe, yes, slightly less blingy – and more personalized, as happens when I work with someone in mind. Although I despise kitsch, I find myself liking it in small doses. Like a heavily adorned rokoko picture frame on a minimalist white wall…
