2015 Armitage Weekly Round-up – tumblr edition #21

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Weekly Round-up is more than a day late this week. Ooops. I’ll get into that in a separate post because I have some pics I want to share with you, but suffice to say the Round-up had to be pushed back. However, I continued to collect links as I went along the week, working from London, so nothing was lost…

Anyway, not unexpectedly, this week’s Round-up is dominated by all things SDCC and Hannibal. With Armitage’s appearance at Comic Con, tumblr was buried under an avalanche of original pictures and fan art, caps and gifs from San Diego. Good times! Those of you who are following my tumblr may have already seen a lot of the links that I am posting today because instead of my usual practice of saving links in a WP post, I simply “recorded” the note-worthy stuff by reblogging them on my own tumblr. And boy oh boy, the booty this week is bigger than *ever*. This could be an overload. Let me warn you – you need a good bit of time to get through this. This is the longest Round-up I have ever compiled. And sorry, no, I could not whittle it down to less. It *all* has to be shown… You’ve been warned…

  42. The first of existingcharactersdiehorribly’s gifs probably ought to put me off and creep me out. It doesn’t because I know the backstory of Dolarhyde – and I am transfixed by the eyes. That is so utterly Dolarhyde and NOT Richard. Amazing how he establishes the character with nothing but a creepy stare. Masterful!

Buy yourselves a comfy chair, industry-size supply of tissues (probably more for the purpose of wiping up the drool than the tears) and prepare to be awed. We owe him awe, after all 🙂

        • See, I only wanted to keep it short (no excessive energy extravagance, due to the ongoing (for me!) brain melting heat wave down here in Southern Germany!). Thought Bilbo and Thorin are self-explanatory und der Pflicht ist Genüge getan and creator’s credits are kept ☃ Now, due to long and winding sentences…I need to rest……. 😛

    • Saure-Gurken-Zeit mal ganz anders, was? Echt, um das alles zu verarbeiten, braucht man Urlaub – und anschließend Reha.
      Grübchen, ich sach dir… Da möchte man handgreiflich werden, oder? Und mal eben schnell unter die knappen Unterhosen schnalzen…
      Nummer 37 hat mich auch einige Minuten fasziniert *hust*. Hat was sehr beruhigend-beunruhigendes. Ahem.

      • Ja es gibt unglaublich viel Haut zu sehen, die gehen in die Vollen! Da zucken die Finger, aber auf dem Bildschirm fehlt die Wärme 🙂
        Bin ja echt gespannt was noch so kommt….aber der Weg dahin wird recht hart befürchte ich…..

        • Ich hab vorhin irgendwo eine ausführliche Zusammenfassung der letzten Folge gelesen, und mir kam schon ohne die Bilder fast das Abendessen wieder hoch. Oh man! Das wird eine Härteprüfung, ganz ohne Frage. Ich bin froh, dass Hannibal hinter Gittern sitzt und Mason Verger unschädlich gemacht wurde. Aber der Ausblick auf den ersten Dolarhyde-Mord hat mir schon den Rest gegeben. Die schön symmetrisch angebrachten Blut-Spritz-Spuren allerdings lassen darauf hoffen, dass es mit überästhetisierter Abstraktion ans Werk geht. Das heißt, man schaltet die Empathie aus und guckt nur auf den oberflächlichen Eindruck. Or so I tell myself… Wir werden sehen.

          • Ich habe die letzte Folge (nicht vom letzten Donnerstag, die davor) gesehen und die letzten 10 Minuten waren echt!! eklig. Nr. 7 wartet schon auf mich 😦
            Da ich das Buch gelesen habe, kann ich mir ungefähr vorstellen was kommt und da ‘Hannibal’ ja gerne in Blut schwimmt, äh schwelgt, war der trailer noch recht harmlos befürchte ich….
            Soll ich Dich erinnern was Dolly mit seinen Opfern alles anstellt? Oder besser lieber nicht?

            • Nö, lass mal, ich hab das noch recht lebhaft vor Augen. Aber ich mache da – natürlich mit ganz klaren Hintergedanken – Unterschiede zwischen dem Ekelkram um Hannibal und der bisher noch nicht gesehenen Mordserie von Dolarhyde. Liegt sicher auch daran, dass das im Buch nicht soooo intensiv besprochen wurde. Kann natürlich sein, dass Fuller da im Dolarhyde-Blutrausch schwelgen wird und mich damit komplett überrumpelt. Mal sehen, wie weit die Selbstüberzeugungskräfte bei mir dann reichen werden…

    • 🙂 Glad you like it. In a way it serves as a slow intro into Hannibal… the latest trailer looks quite “challenging” for naive little innocents like me. But I am gonna bite my tongue and watch 😀

  9. 50 ist ENTSCHIEDEN zu viel. Jedefalls hast du uns wieder ein fettes Paket aufgegeben. Mach bloß weiter so! Quäl mich bitte, bitte quäl mich…..
    Ne, aber ehrlich, mich überkommt immer so eine (selbstfabrizierte) Hetze beim Durchstöbern. Außerdem würde ich gerne gleich und sofort auf meine Eindrücke reagieren, müßte dazu aber parallel mitschreiben und ganz ehrlich, wer will das schon = Hektikgefühl bleibt.
    Mal sehen, was ich mir da so nebenbei aufs Notizzettelchen gekritzelt habe:
    23) Es sieht wirlklich so aus, als ob er an den Killersideburns arbeitet. Ganz schwerer Fall von Schmacht. Irgendwie fehlt mir der Guy auch ein wenig. Da hilft auch kein Odögiiii 😀
    40) Verstehe ich das richtig, dass hier das haarige Element fehlt? Jaaaaa, damit habens die Amis ja massiv. Mir ist das mal aufgefallen in den Film Hugo Cabret. In den nachgestellten historischen Filmsequenzen dort sind haufenweise irgendwelche Jungfrauen zu sehen. Und die haben ALLE ausnahmslos rasierte Achselhöhlen. Wers glaubt wird selig! Da geht die BBC schon offensiver mit der Männlichkeit ihrer Helden um (Porter).
    45) und die Bilder von Heather Siemons gefallen mir wirklich fast alle ausnahmslos gut. Ich weiß ja nicht, wieviel Schwund sie hat, aber die Ausbeute ist regelmäßig stark hitverdächtig.
