Ok, I can’t resist. I am writing and scheduling this on Wednesday evening, ahead of my trip across the water. When you are reading this, I will be sitting in the Barbican, watching Cumberbatch in Hamlet. However, before I left, there were already so many goodies on Tumblr that I decided on a whim, at 10.45 pm to quickly throw the link list together. Wouldn’t want to miss all this:

Just back from today’s London outing. We saw the matinee, so no stage door crawling from us. Nevertheless, it was fabulous, and CH was great. I had no idea his foot was in a cast. There was no sign of an injury whatsoever, and I happened to be a foot-height (sat in second row, right at the front!) Will write more later. Am exhausted right now 😉

Wow, I’d like to hear more about what it was like from that POV. Instead of getting the long view of that huge set, it must have felt like you were inside it… I hope you were on the right, so you could see the staircase.

Luckily we were, and ha d a great view of the staircase and balcony. Did not see all the way to the back of the stage through the big doors, but it was ok. It was great to see everything so close up. And at the 2nd scene (banquet) it felt as if we were almost at the table…

I just saw the filmed version, and got a great look at the props on the table–and the commemorative plate with Claudius’ picture on it, LOL.

We were hoping they would auction it off, though most of us wouldn’t have a prayer. I think Yorick’s skull went for 2500 pounds.

There was some kind of a Barbican Halloween party with an auction. I don’t think it was specifically for Hamlet. I was going to give you the link, but they’ve taken it down now. The prime item was Yorick signed by Cumberbatch 🙂

Oh hallo und dankeschön. Das Wochenende war toll – bis auf die Tatsache, dass wir dank Nebelchaos jetzt in London festsitzen und hier nicht wegkommen. Mussten bis morgen verlängern. Verpassen Arbeit und Schule. Was für ein Theater!!! Aber ein bisschen Spaß miss ja immer sein…

Nebel? Wir haben hier seit Tagen wunderschönstes Herbstwetter. Macht ein Schlenker bei uns vorbei 🙂 Aber es gibt schlimmeres als in London fest zu sitzen 🙂 da fällt Euch schon was ein. Und wie war Hamlet im Original, quasi live dabei? Gibt es dazu noch eine ausführliche ‘Kritik’?

Jou, kommt noch was. Aber im Moment hab ich dazu keine Ruhe und Muße, zudem ich hier nur den neuen Mac habe, an den ich mich erstmal gewöhnen muss. Hatte vergessen, wie nervig die Umstellung auf Mac ist und bereue es gerade leicht…
