Romantic Craftiness

This week is all love love luuuuuurv… Valentine’s Day is just ahead, and little love hearts are floating all around, already 💕. It’s not quite coincidence that it is this week that I am feeling the love, too. After the success of the #RichieHolidaySwap, plushie queen @_sinnamin organised a #RichieValentineSwap, and love-ly gifts were due this week. And I have really made a big haul, again. Look at what my swap partner Hariclea made for me:

What a fabulous idea – a custom RA fan book with lots of lovely pictures – and cheeky little comments to go with them. I was grinning from ear to ear when I read through my book. Hari really came up with some hilarious quips – like Guy celebrating his matching eye shadow and guy liner 😂 I love how unique it all is, with lots of hearts and glitter – and Hari in there, too, by way of her hand-written quips. (She invested dearly in it – sparkly hearts, and glitter pens, and even the little boxes she tidied her material all up in. She’s way more organised and tidy than I am… ) It all came wrapped in a lovely little box containing chocolates and some romantic little tins for more shrining. How cute is that? Thank you Hari dear – I’ve been flicking through my book a few times now, and I am still laughing at the words you are putting in the chaRActers’ mouths… cheeky… naughty… funny!

And today, another gift has reached me – quite a surprise. Aaaages ago I met fellow fan Lemonjapp in London at the big fan meet on the occasion of the conversation with RA in the Old Vic. She had a little heart-shaped tin which she asked me to turn into a shrine for her. (It wasn’t that easy because the tin was tiny, an unusual shape and had no hinges.) In return she has now sent me this:

Bling!!! A bracelet that is made up of my favourite chaRActers. Wow – how cool is that? Guylty’s crown jewels are being added to. I have got a brooch too (made by sorely missed Agzy). Now, how could I wear RICHARD #cuterthanyou #wow #bae ARMITAGE (👈🏻 leaving this here as another piece of evidence how daughter-dear is messing with my auto-correct) on my ears???

      • Root went deep and they numbed me three times. Right now I’m numb to my ear. THe back of it!!! Pain has started to set in, so I’ve taken the hydrocon they’ve given me and I have 800MG of Ibuprofen to kick it if necessary. I’m getting ready to clean up the next installment of Aside from Manna (and maybe go ahead and do the next chapter of The Shepherd) and tag and load. Considering the amount of painkillers in my body, that might prove to be… not a good idea.

  5. LOL, aw schucks, thanks! i have to say it was much fun making , or at least coming up with the ideas, the practicalities were sometimes daunting for the totally inexperienced crafter! You’ll have to tell me wich you like most, for me choosing pics was like picking favorite children, utterly painful… and i had to do several rounds of adjustments as in the first round i had about 70Guy/30rest 😳

    And i can’t wait to see what comes next from the RAPS inc, Mon cheries are my all time favourites! dark chocolate plus cherries plus a bit of booze, def best chocolates, up there with the Mozartkugeln 🙂 The only way they can be improved is if eaten off somebody’s gReAt assets (see.. these are all the side effects of the pic overload! i’ve never felt as inspired and loved up LOL) Good for him he’s being utterly scant with signs of life and faar faaaar away 😝

    • oh, there would’ve been absolutely nothing wrong with 70% Guy/30% rest :-D. But I did like them all – after all there is more to RA than just that medieval Neanderthal 😉
      Disclosure: When I am working on a shrine, by far the most amount of time goes into choosing, resizing, printing and cutting the images. I have the design usually in my head and/or it comes together as I go along, but the photo search – that inevitably makes me veer off the path, I get lost in looking at pictures, and *boom* another hour and a half is gone…
      And now don’t you put ideas in my head re. eating cherry chocolates…

        PS That is how i now know he is absolutely special and unique, i’ve never before ogled photos of anyone for hours without getting bored… this was disconcerting, the more i looked the more i wanted to look! Scary.
        But yeah however much fun the Neanderthal in black leather is, we do love and respect and appreciate other things about RA too 🙂

  6. Mir scheint, du hast Größeres vor. Die Mon Cheri Packung übersteigt das übliche Format bei weitem. (Hast du die aus Deutschland importiert? Ich kann das Wort “Kirsche” erkennen.) 😉
    Hariclea ist eine begabte Schenkerin. Sie weiß, was das (dein) Frauenherz erfreut.
    Wie kommen bloß die Bilder in das Armband? Sieht nach richtiger Feinarbeit aus.
    Du scheinst einige Damen in Schwung zu halten… Kreativität ist ansteckend ;-))

    • Hehe, wart’s ab. Aber ansonsten hat das Adlerauge richtig erkannt. Die Packung kam aus Deutschland und war ein Geschenk von Mit-Fänin UtePirat…
      Die Bilder im Armband sind mini Fotos, über die dann so ein Epoxidharzsteinchen geklebt wird. Cooler Effekt, denn das Bild wird durch die Lichtbrechung dann noch vergrößert und man sieht es deutlicher als auf dem eigentlichen Druck…
      Und hurra, wenn ich andere auch zum kreativen Basteln bringe. Das macht einfach wahnsinnig Spaß…

      • Huch, hoffentlich vergrößert das Epoxidharzsteinchen die richtigen Stellen des Bildes (Augen…) und nicht solche, die eh schon von Natur aus nicht ganz klein sind (Nase …) – Himmel, ich kicher hier vor mich hin wie ein Teenager.
        Ups, ich hab mich verklickt und meinen eigenen Kommentar gelobt.

          Hat er doch gar keinen Grund dazu. Passt alles hervorragend ins Gesamtkonzept.

          • Er hat seine Nase laut eigener Aussage noch nie gemocht. Zu groß, zu dominant; es gibt da einige solche Aussagen von ihm dazu. Ich fand seine Nase schon immer toll – wie die meisten seiner Fans. Markant, ja. Aber irgendwie doch alles immer noch in Relation. Viele Fans glauben, dass er vor rund zwei Jahren dann übrigens eine Nasenkorrektur vornehmen lassen hat. Ich hab es lange nicht geglaubt, bin mittlerweile aber auch davon überzeugt. Sehr dezent gemacht, aber der charakteristische kleine Haken nach unten ist weg, der Nasenrücken ist begradigt. Alles ein bisschen spitzer als zuvor. Aber immer noch kein kleines Näschen… Ich hab mich dran gewöhnt – und letztlich ist entscheidend, was Herrn A gefällt. Ne offizielle Ansage gabs dazu natürlich nicht – klar, er muss uns ja auch keine Rechenschaft ablegen.

            • Mir selber ist bisher noch kein Unterschied zwischen der jüngeren und der älteren (besser: aktuelleren) Variante der Nase aufgefallen. Aber die Nase ist jetzt auch nicht der Körperteil an ihm, den ich besonders intensiv beobachte – hust.
              Da du dich aber so intensiv mit Bildern beschäftigst, würde ich hier deinem Urteil vertrauen und dir zustimmen, dass er das selber wissen muss. Hoffentlich kriegt er die Kurve und die “Selbstoptimierung” artet nicht aus wie bei anderen Leuten. Da gibt es ja erschreckende Beispiele (Mickey Rourke war mal ein richtig Hübscher …).
              Ich bin übrigens sehr einverstanden damit, dass er sein Privatleben privat hält und dererlei Dinge nicht in der Öffentlichkeit erörtert. Davor habe ich großen Respekt.

              • Wie gesagt, die Korrektur ist schon sehr dezent. Ich habe das jahrelang selber nicht wirklich gesehen, wahrscheinlich auch nicht sehen wollen, weil ich irgendwie ein eigenes Problem mit dem Thema Schönheits-OP habe. Letztlich ist aber auch überhaupt nicht entscheidend, was *ich* oder andere Fans denken. Was wissen wir schon vom Druck im Movie-Business – oder von seinem Innenleben. Das soll und darf er ganz privat halten. Auch wenn es mich manchmal auf die Palme bringt, weil die Neugierde einfach zu groß ist – er macht das ganz richtig so. Ich finde ihn integer und irgendwie auch stringent in seinem Verhalten. Er will mit seiner Kunst Geld (und Ruhm?) erarbeiten, nicht mit seinem Lebenswandel oder seinen eigenen Befindlichkeiten. Das spricht für ein gesundes Selbstbewusstsein und die richtigen Prioritäten. Er ist auch so ein “Guter” 🙂 *schmacht, mein Gott ist der toll* 😀

              • Während ich eigentlich ganz andere Aufgaben zu erledigen hatte, habe ich nochmal über das “Schmachten” nachgedacht. Mir wird immer klarer, dass ich mich eigentlich gar nicht so sehr für den wirklichen Richard Armitage derart begeistere, sondern viel mehr für die jeweilige Geschichte und seine Rolle darin. Ich komme ja von Tolkien und vom Herrn der Ringe und ich liebe komplexe Geschichten. Mich beeindruckt die Art und Weise wie RA seine Rollen lebendig werden lässt, wie jeder Blick und jede Geste eine Geschichte erzählt. Wahrscheinlich hat dann noch diese unglaubliche Stimme den Unterschied gemacht. (Denn ich liebe auch meinen Aragorn – aber Viggo Mortensen, der Aragorn wunderbar gespielt hat, kann stimmlich nicht überzeugen 😉 )

                • Den wirklichen RA kennen wir ja auch nicht. (Und ich habe ja auch das – blasphemische – Gefühl, dass er wirklich so uninteressant ist, wie er auf Nachfrage in Interviews immer behauptet :-D. Mal ehrlich, wenn einer 90% des Jahres unterwegs ist und nicht er selbst, sondern eine andere Figur “ist”, was bleibt da noch für die eigene Persönlichkeit übrig?) Er ist ohne Frage ein fantastischer Schauspieler, mit großem Talent und bewundernswerter Disziplin und Professionalität. Seinen Beruf übt er vorbildlich aus. Er kann es halt. Und Stimme und Aussehen runden das ohnehin schon großzügig ausgestattete Schauspielerpaket noch ab.

              • Natürlich guckt frau Interviews und eigentlich alles, was so zu sehen ist. 🙂
                Aber ich denke, dass er mittlerweile alt und erfahren genug ist, um sein Bild in der Öffentlichkeit mit Bedacht zu steuern. Das heißt nicht, dass ich ihn nicht für sehr sympathisch halte. Er würde auf alle Fälle einen Kaffee von mir bekommen. Obwohl, man sieht ihn immer Tee trinken – ich kann aber viel besser Kaffee (von Tee fühle ich mich gleich ganz krank – frühe Prägung).

                • Hehe, bin mir nicht sicher, ob er wirklich typisch britischer Teetrinker ist. Das wäre mir extremst sympathisch (ich trinke keinen Kaffee), aber ich hab ja eher das Gefühl, dass er immer nur von Kaffee spricht… Und ja, der Junge kann ganz gut auf sich selbst aufpassen. Wer seine eigene Arbeit nicht anguckt und anhört, der liest auch nicht, was über ihn geschrieben (und spekuliert) wird. Ist für die Seelenhygiene wohl auch ganz gut so 😀

                • LOL – mein Gott, das ist mir ja ganz entfallen. *hiss* Blasphemie, nochmal. Wie kann man das nur vergessen… Aber jetzt ist hier die perfekte Zeit dafür, denn der Gatte hat sich vor 30 Minuten für einen 8-tägigen Urlaub verabschiedet. (Dumm nur, dass die Kids ab Montag Ferien haben – da hört der Feind dann wieder mit…)
                  Danke für die Erinnerung – da muss ich dringend ran. Kombiniert mit den 36+ Stunden Copperfield bin ich mit 9 Stunden Hobbit Extras und der EE von BOTFA also voll ausgelastet.

  9. Gerade lese ich, dass du Twitter-fastest, dass man dich hier aber auch während der Fastenzeit antreffen kann. Hab ich das richtig verstanden?
    Sechs Wochen wären echt ne lange Zeit. Wo ich mich schon so gefreut hatte, mich mal mit jemandem über die Hobbit EE auszutauschen. Niemand in meinem RL schaut sich das an.

    • Ja, richtig verstanden. Ich gönne mir jedes Jahr anlässlich der Fastenzeit eine kleine Herausforderung und verzichte auf etwas. Bin überhaupt nicht religiös, finde aber, dass das immer so ein praktischer Anlass mit klar vorgegebenen Daten ist. Dieses Jahr verzichte ich auf Chips, Schokolade und Social Media. Twitter und FB sind also erstmal tabu. Der erste Tag war bereits wohltuend frei von Stress 😀
      Aber mein Blog kann und will ich nicht 6 Wochen dümpeln lassen (obwohl ich das vor genau einem Jahr mehr oder weniger getan habe – ich war 6 Wochen in Neuseeland). Das empfinde ich auch nie als Zeitverschwendung, sondern als kreativ und inspirierend (im Gegensatz zu Social Media). Und insofern bist du herzlich willkommen, dich hier jederzeit auszutauschen. Sobald ich den EE-Wälzer in Angriff nehme, werde ich sowieso im Blog darauf zurückkommen.
