Moving on to some additional stuff. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you may have seen that I am currently teetering on the brink of a nervous breakdown or potentially matricide. My mother is over for a visit, that’s all that needs saying. I have been distracting myself with some picture editing – a handy way of pretending to be busy on the computer while actually just drooling over pretty pictures… Anyhow, I was tinkering with some of the Leeds pictures and decided to try and get rid of the distracting backgrounds. Here are the results:

It’s not so readily available here in Hungary. Wish you as much patience as necessary to avoid mumicide, but ready to start collecting bail money for you should you need it! ❤

And thanks for the moral support re. mother’s visit. I actually have to admit that there are always two parties in every fight, so I have to work on my own attitude. For some reason I always feel on the defensive with her…

It will pass, you are right, and I simply have to acknowledge that I may not be without blame myself. I think I am carrying around a huge amount of guilt, and that puts me on the defensive even though my mum does not necessarily attack me at all… Ah well…

I was informed yesterday that I have a quirky personality. In fact, I had a quirky personality when I was 17 and I still have it. According to the person who told me this, it is one of my more endearing qualities.
Not wisdom or depth. Quirkiness.

So sorry it is so stressful annoying when parents never treat us as grown ups and separate from themselves Hold on and hope the bit of photo therapy helped Wish Sir Guy could step out from the screen and give a stern talking to 😊can’t imagine her not listening to him 😋hopefully that image cheers you up a bit Big hug x

Heh, heh, twenty-four hours is usually about my limit. And I stay in a hotel when visiting family, LOL. Enjoyed the “non-controversial edit”–it puts the focus where it ought to be, on that gorgeous face.

You know, I have considered that, too, except my mum would feel horribly offended. A lot of the stuff is actually connected to “but what will the neighbours say”… That’s the usual manipulation approach.
I quite liked the way RA looked in that picture, too. Pity about the silly sign…

Hey Guylty, thanks for making these tumblr round-ups! There are some great great things there, I agree, but I still cannot understand why it is so popular. I have the Love poems on my phone, “I Carry Your Heart With Me” and “Annabel Lee” are my favorite, but an all time favorite is RA reading “The The Life That I Have”. When he says “yours and yours and yours” , he ticks all my boxes 🙂

I know it sounds awfully old-fashioned but time with children and parents is not infinite, so esteem every day (even the strenuous ones), later you’ll have only the memories…
But back to presence: nice collection (as always). I’m perfectly happy with the plaid kink (never seen the checked shirt in a Hobbit background, but it looks goooood) and No. 8 got me, too. This smirk!
And your Mango King somehow reminds me of the old “Mambo Number Five” by Lou Bega, Thorin dancing on the fruit pieces and picking them up with his little sword…

You are absolutely right, Camassia. I should cherish the time I have with my mum. Mind you, she is only 20 years older than me, so I am already picturing ourselves as two old bags, constantly at each others’ throats… I hope that we will eventually return to some sort of normality when my mum has found a way of dealing with her grief for my father. At the moment, she is still crying every day, and much of it is self-pity, which I react very badly to…

Thanks for rounding up another bunch of RA bits. Could you put your mum work helping you make shrines? Maybe she needs something to keep her busy during her visits. She could be your assistant in charge of drilling holes for candles, or something. Just as “there is no crying in baseball”, there is no crying in shrining. It’s in the rules, somewhere.

You know what, I think you were on to something there. I didn’t quite get my mum to work on a shrine – I can imagine her response to them (“you are mad, you are obsessed with that man, this is a dubious waste of time”). But I did some crafting nonetheless and created lots of origami decorations. I let her make one, herself, but she had no patience. But at least it calmed me down. I have planned a nice outing to a castle for today, so hopefully we will all be distracted…

Bei der 1) habe ich erfreut festgestellt, dass er nicht allzu häufig kleinkariert ist, sorry trägt 😁 (wobei es ihm steht *hust*). Aber bei dem letzten Foto wurde ich so dermaßen von seinem offenen Hemdkragen aufgesogen und habe mich visuell in der Brustbehaarung verfangen, dass ich erst nach einigen Sekunden, und nachdem ich meine Brillengläser vom Spontanbeschlag befreit habe, in der Lage war zu beurteilen, was für eine Sorte Karo das ist. 😏
Und du hast hier den Kragen nicht abgefusselt…… Wahrscheinlich aus Gründen der Authentizität.😊
