Herba and her friend Die Pö are still at it with their community blog project that appeals to the creativity in their readers. Going strong for 15 (?) months at this stage, Herba and Die Pö set a creative challenge every month, picking a random topic. Every time I read the challenge posts, I think “oh, I have *got to* take part this month!” And more often than not, time fritters away and I have not completed the challenge. Herba’s reminder caught me unawares, the other day. But then my ambition was piqued, and I spontaneously created a new shrine these last two days, just about ready to take part in the challenge before the deadline looms. This month’s theme was “Dance”. Yep. Not a problem for a fangirl with a vivid imagination and access to old photographic evidence of Mr A’s dancing prowess…
The disco ball is ready…
And Mr A is throwing shapes on the imaginary dance floor. There’s a little homage to RA’s early dancing days in musical theatre in there, too.
Yeah, right, I know that there were no dancing scenes in Strike Back. Why, if I may ask? I am sure Porter would look great on the dance floor, or under-cover with a female agent, rumba-ing at a function… In any case, the scene where I stole this image of Porter always gave me the giggles. This is the moment in SB Episode 1 where Porter has arrived at the location where Katie Dartmouth is held hostage. He reaches into his Land Rover to honk the horn while holding his Iraqi “captor” at bay with his gun. In doing so, he moves his hips to the left with a little “kick”. Cha-cha-cha… Enough to get my imagination going, anyway… (Had to replace the gun with a flower, though – no firearms on the dance floor, please!)
So there. My contribution to Herba and Die Pö’s community blogging project.
This RAPS needs a home! If you are partial to Porter snake hips, Elvis poses and magic moves á la Lee Preston, leave me a comment here or RT my corresponding tweet on Twitter, and you are in the raffle. I will make this a quick one because I have other shrines to reveal and draw the winner tomorrow, Friday 27 May, at 8pm BST.
Good luck and keep rocking 🙂
😂 What a creative interpretation of my favourite snake hips image! 😃 The blue suit photos sort of creep me out, I must say, but the smouldering look makes up for them 😂

*giggles* Well, as you know, I always must pull RA’s leg just a little bit, otherwise the objectification gets a little bit too close to the bone. Those Lee Andrews pics are… well, the less said, the better. (Would love to know Mr A’s thoughts on them, actually. Does he feel a tinge of embarrassment?) The Sarah Dunn pic OTOH – deliiiiish. And Porter snake hips are just indescribably good. It *had* to be done.

Dancing RA. Lovely. I also always liked the way Porter twitched his hips in the Strike Back scene. If it was on tape, it would be worn out in that spot. I have finally stopped crying over losing the previous raffle. This time I am prepared to lose with uncharacteristic style and grace.

Well, those snake hips could come in quite handy in a “gig” scenario… (have you seen his latest tweet? The man obviously likes to tease…)

Wieder was, was wir zusammen gucken können.

Don’t do this to me, S! For a moment there I thought it was him, you minx and wondered why I’d never found the video. Hahaha! Since I had to find out who this fine physical specimen of a was this is, I looked at the comments and here’s the information:
(From) Lee Bridges – 9 months ago (edited)
His name is Joshua Haiman and he performs this dance daily at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California, just south of San Francisco. The Fair is open every weekend from Thanksgiving through Christmas. Here he is dancing at Fezziwig’s Dance Party, a wonderful place for everyone to take a spin about the floor with costumed performers. (I had the honor of giving him his very first Celtic dance lesson when he was still a teenager. He surpassed me in no time flat.)
*****************************************
He’s an American! Mwahahahahaha! All you California residents can have a literal field day and go watch him dance. 😉

Oh no!!!! Epic fail! I mean, no offense, but I had looked for a genuine Scotsman to perform the dance. As usual, the Americans do it better than the real thing…

Wow!! He sure can swing that kilt!! (I’m thankful he was wearing underwear, though, for everyone’s sake;)) That fairly set this old Scottish heart a-beating. It’s a wonder you didn’t hear my loud “yeuch’s” over there! That’s as close I can come to spelling what we Scots yell out when we dance or listen to the music! 🙂
BTW that “snake hips” move he makes in SB always got to me. It’s a wonder I didn’t wear a hole in the DVD the number of times I repeated it!!!
