Transaction Completed

It is a huge pleasure to tell you that the money you raised has now been transferred to the cause we earmarked it for! With the last of the payments coming in, all that remained for me to do, was click on the “donate” button on Save the Children’s Syrian Children’s fund and move the collected monies from my account to theirs. The final tally, from combined donations and auction proceeds, came to 1677.72$. Since the amount was so close to getting enough for another shelter kit, I bumped up the donations and transferred 1750.00$. That is the equivalent of SEVEN shelter kits that we raised together!!! Congratulations to all of you – well done. ❤ Here is the receipt from Paypal (my name and address blanked out for privacy reasons):

For those of you not on Twitter, I would like to share some of the reactions to the fundraiser. These, although addressed at my Twitter handle, are all for you:

My thanks are to all who took part in the fundraiser, one way or another, and by default to Richard Armitage. You’ve got some seriously great fans, man 😀 ! If the need arises, I will happily do another fundraiser again. It’s been a pleasure.

  1. You sure know how to shine your light brightly! Today, I feel humbled to be part of this online family. Richard does inspire those who love him to take action and make a positive difference in this world. Thank you for spearheading yet another event!

P.S: I wish we had someone like you running for US President.

    • *hehe*, I promise this is the last auction post where I am blinding you with my bright self-adulation! 😉 But it is one of my great pleasures in this fandom to actually make practical use of our shared interest in RA and harness it for something good. It is as much inspired by RA, as by other fans who created fundraising drives before me – Agzy from Iwanttobeapinup, comes to mind, as do Obscura and Jazzbaby with their ShareTheLove initiative, or Servetus and her annual birthday comments collection, as well as RAnet’s referral fee scheme. There are probably many more – and then there are those who donate on their own via JustGiving. It really does feel great to be part of such a group.
PS: I’d make a horrible president. I am far too naive, with not enough bite.

    • True. For me, that really validates my fan activities. I like that we don’t just admire *him*, but turn the communal admiration into something positive that reaches beyond our community. Power of love, indeed.
