Let’s start the end of the working week with the pleasant duty of announcing yesterday’s raffle winner. The set of AHA goodies goes to… Be66. Yay, a new name! Congratulations As usual, please confirm your address so that I can post the envelope, which is ready for sending. (You can e-mail me at guylty(at)photographer(dot)net.) The draw protocol is accessible via click on the seal (right).
~*🎄*~
On to today’s raffle prize. I am quite partial to this one, even though it is handmade. But with ❤️.
1 ChaRActer-Design Zipper Pouch
~*🎄*~
Where’s the RA connection, you ask me? Well, look closely, and I hope you see the chaRActeristic signs… It’s not worth much, but it is exclusive and has a little story. I designed the fabric myself; an idea which I stole from the quilt maker extraordinaire, Jholland (who made an amazing custom quilt for fellow blogger Linnetmoss which you can see here). Can you spot all the references that are contained in the design??? – The fabric was initially meant for some fun little goodie bags which I took with me to Greece, containing yesterday’s fun AHA swag, for my fellow AHA experts. But there was some fabric left over, so I decided to try my hand at sewing a little zipper bag. It’s a bit of an upcycling project, in that I got the necessary zipper and plushy inner lining from an unused (!) cushion cover that happened to languish in my stash. It’s large enough to function as a small wash bag, or it could house your make-up, or pens, or any other collection of things that women like to bring with themselves on a trip. It’s about 26cm wide and 22cm high.
~*🎄*~
To enter the raffle for the zipper pouch, leave a comment on this post. The raffle is open for the next 27 hours and finishes at 11am GMT tomorrow, December 17, 2016. (Longer response time in order to avoid conflict with the Tumblr Round-up scheduled for the 8am slot – and give myself a little lie-in 🛌 .)
~*🎄*~
Recap and small print: Raffle for a zipper pouch, open to all until 11am GMT Dec 17, 2016. The raffle item will be sent anywhere in the world, no P&P costs either. To enter the raffle, just a leave a comment below. Winner to be announced in Day 5 post of 12DX, tomorrow.

Well done, Helen – yes, that’s Porter’s tattoo. (I had such a hard time screencapping and then isolating that tattoo off the Porter bicep… hence it’s a bit smudgy. But well, smudge and Porter go together pretty well, too 😀)

They have to be on a navy blue or a black background, like Lucas’ wet jeans when he steps out of the pool after getting the information out of a bad guy. Remember that scene? *cough*

That is such a good point, Violet. Ok, sounds as if that is an entirely different theme from the other fabric designs. I might keep those in pastel colours – and make the slightly more “visceral” Arsitage fabric a punchy jeans contrast. Good thinking!

Stimmt, da kommt so einiges zusammen.

Not in the raffle for this treasure but had to comment. It’s beautiful! I think It would be great for carrying a RAPS around in style. My shrine did not survive the trip to NY without some wear and tear. The disco ball detached, probably from the excitement of being in RA’s hand for a brief moment. I can’t believe so much creativity resides in one person (you). Is there no limit to your talent? Short answer, NO, guess not. 🙂
LikeLike
Dammit. I think my disco ball attachment skills had not quite developed yet when I made that Porter shrine for you. It was one of the earlier ones. If you have some double-sided tape, maybe you can stick it back in?
And hehe, I have been thinking about creating some custom RAPS-carriers. This one may be a tad to big (would probably fit about 10 Altoid tin-size RAPS), but I have been experimenting with smaller pouches, too.
LikeLike
Thanks for the tape idea. I will try it. Glad you are thinking of the RAPS carriers. They could be really cute. Let me know when you are about to release one. I will supply an appropriate “ode to a pouch” to go with it, if you like.

that bag/pouch is adorable. guylty, you are very talented. also I seen people were trying to guess those symbols from characters that Mr. Richard Armitage has played, is one of them paul from between the sheets or john proctor from the crucible. the pencils having me thinking maybe it is the vice principal he played in into the storm.
LikeLike
thanks angel – and I love that you are joining the guessing game :-). The answer to your guesses is: No, neither Paul nor Proctor in this, and Gary is also sadly missing. Keep guessing 😉
But since all these sad omissions have just been brought to my notice, methinks I need to design another fabric, including Proctor, Paul, Dolarhyde, Daniel Miller et al…

i don’t know these characters names but could it be the guy he played in some show where he was a paramedic or that guy that was wearing that blue bikini bathing suit, or maybe monet from the impressionists, maybe the movie were he plays a swordsman protecting monks(pilgrimage), king from alice through the looking glass

Ohmigosh!! You are a genius!! This is so fantastic! The fabric is amazing and that GNOTHI SEAUTON fairly jumped out at me as did the beautiful Helston rose and set my mind racing! 😉 It was fun just checking out all the other “hints” in the design! I can just imagine popping it into my overnight bag when I go for sleepovers with my grandkids. One of them especially would be very envious! 😀

I’m very pleased you are all liking this item so much. I have already resolved to have more fabric printed to make more of these. For general surprise, raffle and auction purposes. Meanwhile, good luck in this raffle, Teuchter! x

Oh my gosh! The characters just leap out at you. First was gnothi seauton which leapt out of the picture; “know thyself” scrawled across Lucas North’s flat hungry belly. Then I noticed John Porter’s scorpion tattoo. Even my slow mind caught that there was a theme here. Thorin Oakenshield’s Erebor key and Gisborne’s shield were next and John Thornton’s yellow rose that you had to search hard for in the hedgerow. But the pencils threw me until I remembered Dawn French’s joke about why the accountant used a pencil when he was constipated. Harry Kennedy! Oh you are naughty, girlfriend.
But it needs a sheep for sweet John Standring. Next time, right? And don’t forget a sweet little red dragon for Francis and a paintbrush and pallet for Monet. And Daniel Miller? Hmmm perhaps a pair of ripe round succulent peaches. Of course that could stand for any of 5 of Mr. A’s characters.
LikeLike
Well done, Tommie, you got it. That was exactly the scene I was trying to get at with the pencils. In the design, I even tried to make a H with the pencils, to make it a bit more obvious…
John Standring!!! How could I have forgotten the lovely farmer? I *so* have to design a couple of other versions of this fabric… I have left too many good ones out. The peaches for Miller are a given… And I might reuse that silhouette of the man himself…

Oooooh, oooooh, oooooh! Is there no limits to your talents? The fabric design is fabulous! I spot all the ‘keys’ to Thornton, G of G, a certain King Under the Mountain…a whole cast of characters.
