As usual, Thursdays are a killer. It’s always the busiest day of the week for me. Why the heck is it always Thursday when all those newspaper article about my major client are published??? So I am using my shortened lunch break to quickly update you on the winner of yesterday’s raffle. The grey pouch goes to…
Susanna
Congratulations, Susanna!!! Would you please send me your address again, and I will get the prize into the post today! Thank you to everyone else for taking part and commenting. Stay tuned, because here’s the next raffle:
I am equally excited as well as hesitant about today’s raffle object. Those who follow me on Twitter might have seen the picture I posted last night of the crafty mess on my table. Well, I was working on a truly one-off object. I suspect this is not to everyone’s taste. It’s bling, and it’s big, but it is truly unique. And it may especially appeal to the Thornton admirers amongst you… Without further ado, here it is:
This is a bib necklace, designed and assembed by yours truly. No precious metals, but precious thoughts, maybe? This is your chance to have Mr Thornton very close to your heart… Here are some details (you can click on the images to enlarge):
There’s much to discover on this necklace, and I can tell you that bib necklaces *always* get a lot of attention. (I have a steampunk bib necklace which attracts comment every time I wear it.) So if you want to enhance your decolletage (not that you would need to – I am sure your assets are all fine), leave a comment to enter the raffle.
~*🎄*~
To enter the raffle for the necklace, leave a comment on this post. The raffle is open for the next 23 hours and finishes at 12pm GMT tomorrow, December 22, 2017. The raffle is open to all, and the items will be sent anywhere in the world, at no P&P costs for you, thanks to a generous contribution to the postage fund by Perry. Winner to be announced in Day 10 post of the 12 Days of Christmas 2017, tomorrow.

Wow, this is awesome, there’s a lot to see in this necklace, lots and lots of details 🙂

My décolletage is already over emphasised 😂 so leave me out of the raffle… but I had to comment because it’s so splendid!

Thank you – that is really nice coming from a jewelry maker! This has nowhere near the handmade value of your amazing glass creations, but it was fun to make, too.

Holy, cow, that’s amazing! I’ve never seen that type of ne klace before. Hope a fashionable sta wins it. May the rest of your day be better. Oh, and congratulations to Susannah!

Have you not? I’m afraid the trend may already be slightly over… I have had my steampunk bib necklace for several years. But I think it still works as a statement piece.

Congratulations Suzanna. As for the necklace…wow, just wow. It’s so beautiful and your attention to detail is amazing. All the little wonders waiting to be discovered.

Exactly – the fun is in looking closely at the necklace, and in discovering the story hidden within. Yellow roses, Mr Thornton’s profile, a couple of wedding rings, a blue book with “N&S” on the cover… it may seem obvious for us, but not for everyone. Which makes it all the more amusing to wear, I think…

You are the most creative person I know. How beautiful. And the calendar pic for the 21st is one of my favorites. Must be my lucky day.

Aw, JP, thanks 🙂 Being creative is just fun – and my way of releasing the pressure of work.
To make this your lucky day, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you for the raffle.

Oh, my, I loove it! I saw the pics on T, but who could imagine anything this great out of all that stuff? It reminds me a bit to that one you made for your Mum, which was beautiful.

And that was a comment XD

Yep, the assembled bits and pieces from all sorts of sources. I should’ve mentioned that, actually – the large majority of my material comes from my fandom friends who have kindly gifted me many bits and pieces for my shrine-making endeavours. They also work for the necklace…

p.s. congrats to Susanna, somehow I forgot it yesterday 😉

If you like N&S, then this necklace kind of tells the story… from yellow roses to wedding rings 😉

that’s truly amazing……….OT did you hear that the car park in Leicester where Richard III was discovered has been awarded special status so it will be protected.

Oh no, I haven’t heard that. How interesting. How are they going to mark the space? Will there be a monument?

I think it means it will not be built on, and future people will be able to explore the medieval building.

That is a great plan. Did they actually repaint the letter R on the PARKING sign on the carpark? That was such an unbelievable coincidence. Or was it?

This is amazing. What a work of art to place Mr. Thorton into. It is simply dripping with Victorian extravagance and frippery. It looks to me like a few N & S shrines got together and exploded into this magnificent creation. How fun. Someone will be very lucky to win it.

Victorian. That was one of the thoughts in my head when I made this. The lace, the cameos, the little frame. I like the idea of a shrine exploding – or maybe imploding and more or less becoming 2D?

I’d wear that & proudly! As for my decolletage – as my late Aunt Skeets put it: “if you got it, flaunt it!” She was a cheeky thing and meant every word.

Your auntie was a wise woman. I’m a believer of the “got it – flaut it” theory, too. Only that I have little occasion to do so…

WOW!!! This necklace is just awesome! I’ve never seen anything remotely like it. You are so very creative, Guylty! Beautiful!
And congratulations to Susanna!

Aw thanks, Debra… glad you like it. I’m afraid I am not the originator of the idea. If you google “statement necklace” or “bib necklace”, you’ll find lots of examples online. Mind you, I don’t think I have seen any such necklaces yet that actually have a theme… Niche in the market? Next thing, I’ll start an online shop on Etsy 😉

This is a stunning necklace. You have a gift for turning bits of embellishments into the most magical creations!

With all those little bits and pieces that I have been sent by my fandom friends, those statement pieces more or less assemble themselves. It’s just a matter of compiling all the matching bits and then shuffling them around on a plate until I find I combination that works 🙂

Congratulations to Susanna. And wow, that necklace looks beautiful. You always have so many amazing ideas. I wish I’d be that creative

Inspiration is anywhere, Riepu! It more or less came to me in a shop where I bought those itsy-bitsy golden frames. I immediately knew that I was going to put a silhouette of Mr Thornton in it. After that it was just a question of figuring out what to attach the frame to.

This is the coolest necklace I’ve ever seen! The details are amazing. You are so talented, I wish I was half as creative as you.

Oh, thanks L! I must say I am thoroughly enjoying my current creative flash. I don’t always make time for it, but the more I do it, the easier the ideas flow. So that’s it, basically: give creativity a try, and practice – and it becomes easier over time.

Well spotted, B! There is a keyhole and a key. Hm, too much? 😉 Too hitchcockian, as in “train into tunnel”? I was actually thinking of “they fit together like a key in a lock”…
