2018 Armitage Weekly Round-up #30

Jaysis, what news!

Well, they have certainly chosen an effective illustration for that announcement. *sigh* *pants* *thud* I loooove the Richard Ascroft images.

Anyway, here’s this week’s tumblr offering:

  1. Officially ringing in the winter season with this darling little post by lego-martin
  2. Talking of the Red Dragon, here’s a comparison by ex-cunnus-mea. No question!!!
  3. Join the club, dailychindian. His fans have breached all kinds of genres – just for that voice…
  4. Redsirionsoldrastuff goes popart with this edit
  5. I have a vague feeling I posted this already, but it’s still funny. By redsirionsoldrastuff, too
  6. Cod, I loved that look on him. Yeah, even the formal wear. And especially the boots (out of view). RA at the BAFTAs, posted by mzperx0506universe
  7. Nellindreams wants more Armitage on her dash and starts us off on this. I’m not a fan of that grey number (especially from this angle), but the wrist-and-forearm-fuzz-porn makes up for that
  8. Touché, grimweaver, because we all know exactly what happened after that exchange #wallnailing
  9. Robin and Guy – slightly different. Drawn by thatdoodlebug
  10. Have we seen this sketch by knitepercival already?

Sorry ladies, I’ve found it hard to find at least 10 items this week. Mind you, there was plenty of fan fiction out there. I haven’t linked any because I have kind of lost touch. But if you search for Thorin or Richard Armitage, you will find plenty.

Good morning and out,

Guylty ❤️

  1. Morning!!
Bwahaha on the ugly sweater LEGO post. Hilarious.
Yes, fans are breaching all kinds of genre and medium barriers for that man. The power is real.
The BAFTA look is yummy, I agree. I’m #TeamCasual as well, but if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times—it’s nigh on impossible to ugly that man up.
Well, I’ll keep this short. Due to an unforeseen disturbance in my sleep schedule (down too late, up way too early) my synapses are not firing on all cylinders today. 🤯

The lego post really made me laugh, too.
Hear hear on the impossibility of making the man look ugly. I mean, even as Francis Dolarhyde he had a strange appeal.
Hope the synapses have recovered in the meantime…

      • They’re pretty slow. I would’ve needed to sleep in past 7 this morning to make up for the loss of sleep, but circumstances prevented me. Well. I’ll live. Dolarhyde is definitely strange. I grappling with the appeal if you know what I mean.

        • Ha, I know exactly what you mean. I never read any Dolly fan fiction, but boy, I was weirdly attracted to him, too. I blame the chap who played him. What’s his name again? Robert Hermitage or something like that? 😁

  2. After the intensity of our pout session over his Hannibal appeaRAnce in Feb (are you going by the way) #8 is exactly what I needed this morning!
I love the Smaug Bilbo exchange f**klord is brilliant!! I hope you enjoyed your Baileys last night. Have a relaxing weekend and stay out of trouble! 😉😘

  3. I get through my morning Tumblr scroll in less than five minutes these days, it used to take me up to an hour in the earlier Hobbit days *sigh*

  4. Tumblr’s tag system has been weird for some time. I’ve noticed that many of my post doesn’t appear in the tag. That’s one reason I’ve haven’t been there a lot lately

      • I haven’t been all that active anyway with original posts, but when I put the effort in I’d like to actually see them in the tag lol. No rhyme or reason to what appears, my latest post has appeared in the tag after a couple or so that didn’t. Having to manually access would be more time consuming, you should be able to rely on the RA tag. 😕

  5. So who has tickets to the Starfury Convention? Are you Brits snagging tickets pronto, and do you have us worldwide fans covered? Will there be pictures and live tweets? Videos, too, please. Please use the Popcorn Taxi event in Australia as your model. The Aussies who attended “brought us all along” on their adventures brilliantly.

  6. I’ve been having Home Thoughts from Abroad ever since I saw that February announcement. It’s a do-able venue for anyone thinking of going – minutes from Heathrow and they have a shuttle bus service from the terminals.

Thanks for the roundup, Guylty. I didn’t think you’d have time to do one after all the goodies earlier on. I lol’d at the ugly sweater Lego version but oh my eyes, that snowman’s nose.

Moving swiftly on, the BAFTA look gets the thumbs up from me and so do foxy Robin and Wolfie Guy. Cute as buttons, the pair of them!

And finally, many congraulations on your bloggiversary. You’ve kept us happy and entertained from day one and you have the bestest commentors too. In short —

🎼 You are the blogging queen,
    Superstar on the Armi-scene,
    Blogging queen,
The best fun that there’s ever been.
    We can pant
    We can sigh
Having the time of our lives
Read that blog, watch those scenes

  7. I just remembered, for anyone planning to hit the UK in Fbruary, Sir Ian McKellan is doing a one-man show at the Old Vic on the 17th. He’s promising to give us his Gandalf as well.

  8. Congratulations on the blogoversary! Your blog is definitely an essential ingredient to the discerning RA fan’s week!
It would be fun to go to the February con, but it’s just not in the cards for me. Hopefully we’ll get lots of reports and pictures from those who can attend.

  10. Crikey, I’m so far behind on your blogs, G! Just a quick hello to get in on the chat…I think the ugly sweater LEGO has finally convinced me to join Tumblr. I laughed so loudly that I woke up the old lady cats!

  11. Maybe he doesn’t *read* the comments, but his little analytics tool must tell him the number of likes/comments on his tweets and to assume that they are all unilaterally directed @ him saying “Oh Richie, you’re so dreamy” is hubris. And even if, he’s still deleting a bunch of people’s comments. Sorry, I may be grumpy today, but I’m not inclined to cut him a lot of slack on this.
