Good morning. Just a quick post today. Sorry I haven’t been around the last few days. I am working on Flat Richie – and I have a few doctor’s appointments this week, so I am in and out all the time.
To the topic of the post now: Thank you to Servetus for bringing this new trailer for BS 3 to my attention via her post. I am posting this here in case people want to discuss what we see in there. Tbh, I think my worst fears are confirmed re. Daniel’s fate.

Secondly, wow, and once again we are looking at Hubris Station. Epix, or rather the producers, are again bigging up their “on the pulse” research for their show. Oh-oh. We’ve heard it all before. And I was not convinced. Can they deliver? And is that whole scenario really convincing?

I thought Richard looked pretty good in the snippet interview and this trailer at least pulled me in more than those other graphic ones. I’m trying to be optimistic and the Q and A better come soon since BS3 debuts a week from Sunday 🙄🤔🤷♀️
On another note hope you are feeling good and the other “project” is coming along that will take time so hang in there !! Missed ya around for sura!!!!

That Q&A? I really wonder whether it will ever happen.
The “project” is ongoing. Currently better than last week. Down to 4 rollies a day (which is probably about 2 “normal” cigarettes”).

Well, this was bts, which is quite different from what we had seen to date. Everything else up till now was Daniel Miller, not RA, and I think DM is meant to look haggard and run down because of the mission.

There’s been so much speculation that DM will be killed off this season but even with the violence to his character shown in the trailers, I’m not convinced yet. It doesn’t make sense for the show runner to put out that big of a spoiler before season 3 even airs unless they’re just looking to hook the viewers with the curiosity of finding out DM’s fate. Will he or won’t he survive? Remember that’s the tactic they used in the first episode of season 1. If they do finish him off this season I’m out. I’d like to think that if his character has to exit that Esther miraculously comes to his rescue and they ride off into the sunset with new identities.

Yep, I somehow can’t believe they would spoil their own show so much. But it definitely looks like Daniel is really getting beaten up a bit in this season. And then there is that file by the MfS (East German spy department) again… what does that mean??? Hopefully some involvement from Esther. And yeah, if that means Daniel rides into the sunset with her, I’m happy.

Guylty I think it’s about Daniels mom or done background filler b/c Richard Jenkins eludes in his interview stuff from S1 secrets that didn’t know about come out and remember when Esther took Daniel to the spot where mommy died after the Wall sex (what a romantic gesture that was) so maybe there is a tie in there. Did you email Orser about the Q and A?

Perhaps this is the reason why RA professed not to know if he was in series 3 if the story line follows events before his mother’s death?
Although that would go against the information about series 3 covering just 11 days

I don’t think he would walk away from the series unless something better were waiting in the wings but I think they will drag out Daniel MIA the whole season unless Ep4 is the pivotal one

Guylty yeah I was but it reminded me when Daniel realizes Esther is playing in at mommy’s death site (who takes a guy she just had incredible sex with to such a morbid place) and he says “0h you think you are so clever” just the way he said it ooohhhhahhhhhh😘💗💗 well I had nominated a certain other German who would be perfect for the task but…,,

Thanks. It‘s actually why I *didn‘t* wanna ask. It sounds so desperate, like I expect my question to be picked (I don‘t; I‘m a hopeless pessimist when it comes to these things). I would‘ve liked for someone else to ask who was independently interested in the answers, no matter who asked. Oh well, they won‘t care. I‘m the only one who thinks about myself as much as I do. 🙄

Davon abgesehen frage ich mich aber auch, auf welche “current events” sie sich beziehen, an denen sie ach so nah dran sein wollen. Aber nach S2 sind die Erwartungen ja diesbezüglich schon so niedrig, dass sie kaum enttäuscht werden können. Und ich hoffe, der Film enthielt nicht schon so ziemlich alle Szenen, in denen Daniel zu sehen sein wird, schließlich hat er ja nur 2 Folgen oder so (soweit wir wissen).
Freut mich zu hören, dass es bei deinem anderen “Projekt” Schritt für Schritt vorwärts geht, Guylty. Du kriegst das hin, du bist stark genug!!!

Genau so. Alle Danny-Szenen zusammengeschnitten, um die Fans etwas zu beruhigen und zu ködern. Außerdem fehlt mir Mina Tander in den Vorschauen. Ich weiß, es richtet sich in erster Linie an amerikanisches Publikum, aber trotzdem.

Das hat mich auch gewundert, dass Esther gar nicht auftaucht… Aber dann wieder die MfS-Akte am Schluss, also muss da ja wohl doch ein bisschen was mit den deutschen Verfassungsschützern auflaufen…

Es hat mich nicht gewundert, dass sie nicht auftaucht. Ist eben eine amerikanische Serie mit Fokus auf amerikanischen Darstellern (nur aus Versehen wurde auch noch dieser große, dunkelhaarige Brite mit reingeschnitten, obwohl er nicht viel Sendezeit hat). Ich finds nur schade, daß man sie ignoriert, schließlich ist sie seit Folge 1 dabei.
Könnte sein, dass Esther was mit der Akte zutun hat. Vielleicht aber auch James Cromwell in seiner Rolle. Ich denk ja bei MfS immer an Dannys Mutter, aber die Akte hatte Esther ihm doch schon gegeben, oder.

Klar, die nicht-amerikanischen Figuren sind nur nebensächlich. Aber da Esther immerhin ja schon zwei Staffeln lang groß mitspioniert, hatte ich ihre Beteiligung erwartet. Zudem so eine völlig zusammenhanglos dahingelegte MfS-Akte irgendwie auch null Sinn macht. Oder ist das dann auch wieder mal dem vornehmllich amerikanischen Publikum geschuldet, die das sowieso nicht mitschneiden??? Ach, alles höchst ärgerlich. Vor allem nach wie vor die totale Unterbeschäftigung von diesem Robert Hermitage.

Er hat das sicherlich großes Potential. Denk nur an die BBC Gutenachtgeschichten, die waren und sind nicht nur für die kleinen Zuschauer überaus erfreulich. Er ist ein besonders begabter (und gutaussehender) Märchenonkel. 😉

Ich glaub, bis zu dem Punkt ist es noch ne ganze Weile hin. Und zur CBeebies Zielgruppe zähle ich mich schon noch. Für sowas ist man doch nie zu alt! 🤓😂

Ihr nehmt mich alle viel zu ernst. Das war ja viel weniger auf ihn gemünzt als auf uns selber – wir werden, genau wie er, ja auch nicht jünger. Und deswegen meine ich ja auch nur, dass wir bald nicht mehr unseren eigenen Kindern Armitage die Gutenachtgeschichten vorlesen lassen, sondern unseren Enkeln.

Aber ich genieße CBeebies ja sowieso schamlos völlig unabhängig von irgendwelchen laufenden Metern. 😉 Ohne jetzt Herrn Hermitage zu nahe treten zu wollen, empfehle ich in dem Zusammenhang auch gern „Emily Brown and the Elephant Emergency“ von David Tennant, wenn man dem Schottischen zugetan ist und gern das Wort ‚Emerrrrgency‘ 17 mal in fünf Minuten hört (*hust* also nicht ich, sondern nur so allgemein *hust*). 🙄

Du triffst den Nagel auf den Kopf – ich hatte auch schon große Bedenken, dass der Trailer und das BTS jetzt schon mal die gesamte Teilnahme RA’s am Geschehen umfasst. (Bis auf die Überführung des Leichnams *hahaha*)
Die current events sind wieder mal dermaßen an den Haaren herbeigezogen… Sorry, aber mir ist ganz und gar unerklärlich, wie diese Schreiber und Serienmacher auf den Gedanken kommen, dass sie da hochgradig aktuelles und brisantes Material produzieren. Ham wir doch alles schon mal gehabt – zuletzt vor ca. 30 Jahren.
