So, did you all get this latest update?
So, not in February anymore but two months later?! Fingers crossed! It’s now more than three years that I saw the film, so I *am* actually looking forward to watching it… April it is…

Not surprised. Not holding my breath. I fear this will go the same way as The Crucible; something I would give my eye teeth to see, but probably won’t ever get the chance.
At least if they DO release it sometime before I die, I will be pleasantly surprised.

I just don’t get it, in this case. Surely, printing some DVDs can’t be that difficult, seeing that it is presumably the rights holders who are selling directly? Anyway, fingers crossed the DVD makes it in April…

I’m with you, I really am at a loss, why announce pre orders then delay delay unless there were so many pre orders not enough to go around? Then release and do back orders? At least once the dvd is out they will get money from the orders… Why not do PPV or Netflix?

I really don’t think a smalltime production company has the clout to make Amazon or Netflix happen. Idk anything about the industry, but that’s a very, veeeery big pond for a tiny fish.

I’m keeping faith – it’s going to happen – just a matter of when.

I think that is it – it *will* be released. Probably later rather than sooner.

Sparkhouse, you have seen it already though right? Did you go last year when he was in Newcastle?

No, sadly a trip overseas was not in my budget right then. I did see it once online though fortunately.

I know what you mean although I haven’t seen it but I hope he announces some sort of play for late summer/fall so I can budget/plan especially if he is out of BS for good??? Speaking of that what do you make of this season?

I haven’t seen it either 😱😭🤯
When did that happen just now?

Has it turned up in your mailbox too, now?

No no I did not pre order it. This just sucks b/c I couldn’t see it on that Blenheim Films site b/c the rental did not work. Why don’t they try that again or allow Amazon to have rent video as an option?

Good point.
I have to admit that these kinds of obstacles usually wear me down and result in me losing any interest…

I want to see this film so badly based on everyone who has seen it raving about it plus Richard of course and the subject matter is interesting
Just a shit show though in my opinion
It would behoove the studio or production company and Brady to allow as wide distribution as possible
But it never popped up on my pay per view last Spring either

I know I‘m beating a slightly less than vivacious quadruped here, but pre-orders signal interest and are important to getting such a difficult project off the ground. Even if it is frustrating. Everything else is the Firefly Effect waiting to happen and none of us want that.

“less than vivacious quadruped” – lethargic swine? 😂 JK, I know the original phrase.
You are 100% right, of course, and that was exactly why I pre-ordered the DVD – *despite* having seen the film already, *despite* having contributed to funding via poster buys, *despite* the track record. It’s just so frustrating to see the whole thing falter again and again. And frankly, I am getting to a point where my trust is beginning to crumble…

I get that. You‘ve all been dealing with this for years. I‘ve only been at it a minute and a half. But I just want this so badly. I haven’t been touched by a movie and a performance in that way in forever.

Nah, don’t get me wrong – I want this movie to be released, too. It is worth seeing (although far from perfect). I just actually feel slightly mucked around with.

Yes that’s a great word to describe what’s going on and some of us have never seen it 😉🤔👁🤷♀️

It is how I feel too.
Not many films have had two premieres all be it tiny in the way of things( I was unable to attend either because of other commitments in the first and secondly the location of the second showing) and still not made a go of it, too bad Ms Brady!
It was shown to a select number of people in Oxfordshire? IIRC maybe Anna Friel’s home village? but it was kept so secret no well wisher could make plans in time to see it.
I have seen a screenshot of my name as a contributor (financially) and sometimes I think this is all I shall see!

Yeah, it is just rather frustrating. I do think that the film has a lot going for itself, not least a few big names attached to it (Armitage, Friel), and definitely a capable director. And it deserves 50 premieres if that’s what it takes ;-). There is just a little bit of incomprehension on my side because a good few fans “donated” money in order to fund private ways of distributing the film, and it just seems odd that it isn’t forthcoming or taking such a long time.

So I just reread this comment and had a thought: so your name would be in the credits of the film right under thanks yous ?!! That is sooo cool!!!

LOL – are you referring to the “track records” or to the “poster buys”? In fact I *am* listed as a supporter…

I thought that Brady had listed all supporters/donors in the movie credits? So you would be there right?

Yep, I am.

Wunderbar!!!!! Did you view it on the Blenheim site? I know you saw it live and in living color in 2015…

No, I’ve never been able to watch it online. I only saw it twice in 2015…

I don‘t think it‘s easy to get Amazon to distribute content as pay per view. They probably have very complex contracts way out of reach for small production companies.

Probably has arrived in the meantime, has it?

I received a similar message only my estimated date of arrival is April 5-10. It would be worth the wait if they decided to add special features or subtitles but that’s highly doubtful at this point. Trying to stay positive they’re going to work things out and get it released.

It appears as if they are giving staggered delivery dates now. I have seen various dates mentioned by people in different countries. Eugeal mentioned that the release date apparently is 25 March. Her shipment dates are between 1 and 3 April, mine is 2-4 April, yours 5-10…

Mine is also:
Estimated arrival date: April 05 2019 – April 10 2019
Perhaps because I’m in the U.S.? I thought I pre-ordered the day it was announced but can’t remember [tiny brain and all] so am wondering if delivery is location-based.
LikeLike
Yes, I think delivery windows vary according to location. UK is earlier than Ireland, for instance. And Europe seems to be earlier than US.

It’s just a mystery to me why it is fraught with so many difficulties. Even your man whatshisname was able to print “Staged” on DVD, sell, ship and make a nice profit on his old work…

Well, that is the good thing about pre-ordering on Amazon – it’s not a financial risk. Unless the product is available, we won’t be charged.
