Halleluia! Guess what? I am finishing my Fan A to Z today. A mere eleven (11!!!) months after I started it. Yeah, ridiculous. Guylty has pushed procrastination to a new level. Apologies for the time it took.
Z – A chaRActer headcanon you have?
Not sure whether this is a case of ‘leaving the most difficult for last’… ChaRActer headcanons are tricky at the best of times. What is fantasy and what is recurring backstory? But fwiw, I have *one* general headcanon that applies to all of RA’s roles: None of them have died. And in that vein, my favourite fantasy object, Sergeant Porter, is still alive and kicking, working as a security contractor and basically specialising in protecting and training aidworkers who go on missions to Africa.

Alright, alright, that’s straight from a story that hasn’t even sprung from my own imagination but from RAllatrix’s. She wrote this awesome piece of fanfic years ago, and I think that the scenario really holds. Never mind that the heroine of the piece is actually a photographer. That’s not essential to the headcanon. For those of you who haven’t read it yet, I recommend you give Chance Encounter a try.

As for headcanon, I totally agree with you re chaRActers living on. My happily-ever-after AU is quite crowded now. What a shame that the scene the screencap came from was a too-short dream sequence, not enough chaRActer romance/love scenes as far as I’m concerned. 😉

But yep, that dream sequence was rather short. I guess SB was aimed primarily at men – and so they thought they didn’t need to keep the lads happy with a hot love scene *giggles*. No matter – we can imagine what happens next…

i’m def of the Porter lives on, i genuinely can’t bring myself to watch series 2. I know why it happened, but i love that character so much.
Also Standring deserves a happier ending than what he ends up with

Totally agree with you on Standring. The gentle teddy bear really needs a spin-off series of his own. Actually – how about a continuation of Sparkhouse? 17 years later. Where is John now? What is he doing? Did he ever have kids and a farm of his own?

Congratulations Guylty! To think I felt bad finishing mine in August, with the fear that I’d missed the deadline. It was such good fun though and really interesting reading all the different and similar views. Even though I hated Guy dying, because it obviously meant no more Gisborne, I don’t have a problem for some reason with his characters dying and he is so sexy in Porter’s final scenes tied-up, furious and with nothing to lose.

Interesting argument re. death scenes of the chaRActers. Technically, I can’t argue against that. However, I’d much prefer it if he only had “near-death” scenes 😉

I thought the alphabet posts were fun and I hate to see them end. I am among the fans who would like their head cannon guys to just survive and have some happiness. It doesn’t seem too much to ask, but apparently, it is.
