I still think of papa every day. I miss him. It’s his fifth anniversary today.
He gave me more than just a piece of sky.
Also unforgotten: The kindness of my fellow fans at a time that I needed you. Thank you, I will forever appreciate your support, your words, your gifts, your presence. Peace & love!
Biggest hugs! 🤗

What a beautiful short poem. It made me cry because it is true. No wait would be too long. Thank you! x

it’s from a ballad by Fontane, but someone cited it to me a few years ago, and I find it fits. I’d wait forever, too (and I suppose I will, whatever “forever” means in the ultimate scheme of things). Hugs.

Oh yes, I’m easily baited with “see them again” and not think that the wait might be forever…

It’s been 33 years since I lost my own darling dad, the initial pain diminished long ago, but I still miss him. I occasionally dream of him and those dreams are so real that I wake up feeling as though I have been with him. I treasure those dreams, I wish those dreams for you too.

That’s it – the pain is gone (only pops up on anniversary days when you really let it get to you) but missing loved ones never stops. I miss my grandparents just as bad. Those dreams, I have them too, very occasionally. And they are wonderful. Until you wake up…

P.S. Funny you should choose a song from Yentl to commemorate him. I often think of the song “Papa can you hear me” from Yentl when I think of my own father…
