Armitage Weekly Round-up 2019/22

Back on Saturday, a little later than usual. I was busy last night making a few junk journal/albums and just didn’t want to break the creative flow… I am currently enjoying plenty of time and freedom. Both my kids have taken off for their looooong summer holidays, travelling in Europe. While they are living it up in Spain and Portugal respectively, Mama Guylty does not have to worry about regular mealtimes and fully stocked fridges. Instead I am working, planning and crafting. The latter activity received a big boost yesterday, courtesy of dearest Donna. Is there anything better than a surprise? A parcel arrived on my doorstep, and it was cleverly disguised as an Amazon Prime shipment. I order stuff from Amazon every once in a while, and so was not suspicious about the parcel – which did not have a sender marked on it. And then…

Definitely not Amazon 🤭

I love unwrapping… the delayed gratification of having to prise the sellotape off to reveal what’s inside… delicious.

Oh yes, I had a little craftgasm when I saw all this… The vintage bits and pieces are *right* up my street, and I love it when I am sent things that I do not know what to do with at first sight. The challenge of improvising usually gets the best results. So a massive mega thank you to Donna. xxx You know you shouldn’t have! But I love love love it all the same.

Right, on to what you are here for. This week’s tumblr loot. New month, new header, right! Well, the darling boy has given us a good one.

  1. Remember last week’s background-less Daniel Miller? Well, this week riepu10 gives us a background-less Guy. Cos every blog needs a knight… right!
  2. Ok, Korea in slow motion with armporn. Thanks to richrichrichs2
  3. An interesting little discourse about Raymond de Merville as “anti-Christ” in Pilgrimage by apptowonder
  4. An amusing little fluffy prompt by eternalmylady – although I honestly do not think that Guy would voluntarily dance…
  5. I am including this reblog by richardarmitagefanpage in here: It’s a mini clip celebrating the wrap of block 2 of The Stranger. And while Richard is not visible in it, you can here his voice in the clip
  6. Bingo, mindyourownmadness. Cravats are sexy. Although… come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind seeing “a bit more” of RA…
  7. I don’t remember seeing these pictures, but I must be wrong. From the background I can see that they are an Old Vic event, so it must be Richard in his Crucible phase. He looks so exhausted… Repost by deepestfirefun
  8. For those of you who love fan fic – fizzyxcustard has been doing picture prompts, i.e. she posts a picture of RA and asks for a prompt. This one is a cute picture…
  9. Talking of picture prompts – now, *this* is a picture I’d love to hear prompts for. Posted by mezzmerizedbyrichard
  10. LOL – I had to laugh at this mini summary of Hobbit  and Castlevania by brokebackgf
  11. Probably a repost, but this find by deepestfirefun is fun… and probably close to a few dreams of Richard’s fans
  12. *giggles* nfcomics with another *tuttuttut* What a Guy wants again
  13. Mininottingham goes for a picnic *lol*
  14. How did I miss all this Guy goodness??? There was apparently some sort of RH day recently, and lots of stuff was posted. Most of it rather anti-our guy (Guy). Anyway, here is a nice edit I liked, made by armitageadoration
  15. ooooh, and I love the “dimension jumper” by fizzyxcustard
  16. And can we PLEASE marvel at all the repressed longing that Richard puts into this scene with Guy and Marian? Jesus Christ, if I caught a man looking at me like that… *puddle* *floor* Gifs by riepu10
  17. ooooh, another mininottingham that I missed. This is really meta!

Right, I’ll leave it at that because I want to get the post out there now. Hope you enjoy. And since I haven’t said it for a while –

Thank you to all the tumblrers who are entertaining us with their great gifs, pics, fics and comments.

Have a great weekend, all!

Guylty ❤️

    • Top taste indeed.
It’s nice and simultaneously strange to be alone at home. Bittersweet. I always enjoy time for myself because I am never really bored, but I also miss the kids. I have to get used to this…

  2. Oh I’m so happy it arrived safely and quickly this time, only 7 days. I hope you will enjoy finding ways to incorporate them into future creations. Whenever you reveal something new (whether RAPS or JuJo’s) it’s kind of like virtual Happy Mail for me- and it’s an exciting and fun thing to look forward to…to see the materials you’ve been sent by friends later emerge as artistic treasures 😍
Great roundup..lots of Guy goodness this time ❤️

    • 7 days!!! That is so quick. (There really is no rhyme or reason to the way the postal services work…)
You really have a knack of choosing beautiful things, Donna. So much so that I often feel that I just want to keep those things, never use them *hehe* But your latest gifts have already set the design ideas in motion… I have some ideas…

    • Hear, hear. That’s exactly it. I have been the recipient of so much generosity. It’s one of the great things about being a fan in this fandom. Not for the material gains for me personally, but because it is simply a good feeling knowing that there are such lovely people here.

  3. I was drooling at that parcel myself and I haven’t a crafting bone in my body. Hope you have many happy hours with all the goodies, Guylty. Lovely roundup too. It went very well with my afternoon tea.
#1 Oooh, fancy boots and that intent glare. The lack of background brings out all the detail in this. Riepu10 has given us a knight to remember. 😀
#4. I’m with you on this, Guylty. I don’t see Guy dancing either. Not that kind anyway.
#14 Sob. All that angst tears at my heartstrings. 😭 ☺️

    • The goodies are so good, I am already happy just looking at them 😂. Seriously, my hoarding has gotten out of hand. It’s absolutely terrible. I need to do more stuff.
I love Riepu’s transparent images. They would look even better if my background wasn’t just boring white…

    • The trouble with the lovely happy mail is always that I love the things in it, particularly the pretty papers and decoration stuff for tins or junk journals – so much so that I hoard them instead of using them. So stupid. I have now imposed a ban on buying new things – charity shops included – because I seriously have too much already.

      • Oh, I know exactly what you mean. It’s physically painful to cut into a pretty paper. Or use that gorgeous brad or grommet. We’re such weirdos.

          • Just *knowing* we have them. That! So. Much. That.

I admire you sending your finished RAPSs out into the world after they’re done. Is it sad?

            Like

            • No, not sad at all. And I say that in all honesty. I have absolutely no problem saying good-bye to them. It’s as if my greatest pleasure is in designing them and then making them. OH, and photographing them, revealing them, (receiving attention for them – yes, I admit I am a total attention whore) and then imagining that the new owner will have fun with them. That’s all I want from it. It makes me really, really happy that I have let go of all of them. And I love the thought that they are strewn across the world in many different places.

              • I started reading your reply to Kate and thought you were talking about your children off on their travels! E.g. ‘Not sad at all’, ‘No problem saying goodbye, ”greatest pleasure is in designing them and then making them’! What a healthy but rather cool attitude I though t until I realised you meant the raps!

                • 😂😂😂😂 Well, in all honesty, there was great fun in making those kids, too. Although I have to confess that neither of them was really designed as such. They were both defaults. But they are actually a little bit harder to let go than the shrines. However, I do have many pictures of them, too, and some of them are in a book, too.

Portugal is a lovely lovely country !!

      • Guylty I have discovered quite a lot of Tim Holtz stuff online! I love the thought and care people put into gifts especially knowing the recipient likes certain things or has a hobby or is fond of a particular character(s) !! When the creative mind gets stimulated that’s icing on the cake!

        • That’s exactly it, Michele – there is more to it than just the materialism of it. It’s knowing that somebody took care to go out and buy something for me, that is INVALUABLE. Can’t put a price on those presents.

          Liked by 1 person

          • 😉❤️the greatest joy to me is to give to a friend or family member and have them embrace and know that I gave it out of love. Also when I get a gift and am deeply touched that the sender knows me so well such as my bday that is priceless and INVALUABLE 😘❤️

            • Exactly. It is not about the price of things, the money invested. It is about the thought behind it. I remember one Christmas, for instance, where my favourite present was a thermometer for the kitchen window. I had only mentioned in passing that I needed to get one, and my parents heard it and bought it. That was so valuable to me.

            • Ritual is the word. Like all artists *hehe*. Richard needs darkness and music before he goes on stage. I need my messy desk and the Guy of Gisborne cushion to park my arse on 🤣

              • DARkness and music indeed with his fancy Air Pods adorning those kissable ears!
Thank god you are human with a messy desk bless you !! 😘😉😂😎
Keep doing what you are doing sweetie the results are inspiring and fabulous!!

  5. Great RA booty thanks and what great craft booty – I love those black angel wings, they would suit ,a certain leather-clad someone. But I understand just what you mean about improvisation from the less obvious. Donna’s generous parcel must have arrived at the perfect time.
