Armitage Weekly Round-up 2019/24

Sorry, everyone – I am way behind with replying to comments and to e-mails. It’s been an intense week here, and I have spent a lot of time with my mum – as well as entertaining the hard-working husband as he was painting his m-i-l’s flat. Anyway, he’s left yesterday, and I have a little more time for myself now.

I did take the time to compile a weekly round-up, though. Enjoy and have fun!

  1. I am compiling this on Friday. So here is angry Guy by riepu10
  2. Appleinducedsleep is totally right – and that is how I got into fan fiction, too
  3. I am absolutely thrilled that riepu10 has already giffed the litte TS clip. Adam is gorgeous
  4. OMG, mezzmerizedbyrichard!!! This is an instruction video on the various kinds of porn. No worries, ladies, this post is safe for work
  5. Spot on, crazytxgradstudent – see my little edit of this screengrab to the left
  6. Probably too late to supply a prompt for fizzyxcustard. But I am sure the list of prompts itself will be interesting to read
  7. Fizzyxcustard also posted a series of pictures –  I like this. Find a caption?
  8. I saw this on Twitter, too, but can someone explain to me what it means? Posted by richardarmitagefanpage
  9. Riepu10 has listened – every blog needs a (backgroundless) farmer…
  10. A nice little game – or prompt – by deepestfirefun. Not sure whether I would talk, though…
  11. Luluxa gives an insight into this gorgeous commission of Bagginshield progresses
  12. Oh cod, what’s this screencap? Hehe, I don’t know whether fizzyxcustard should keep that under lock and key

Short and sweet. But boy do we have something to look forward to. I loved the little look at TS – it’s a great teaser. I haven’t read the book – have you? Do you think we’ll see the show before Christmas?

Have a nice weekend, guys,

Guylty ❤

  1. Brought my hubs and Pekingese to CCI this year and as I’m giving Moby a chance to complete his evening constitution, your round up vibrated in my pocket. Yeah I’m trashed and have to get up early, but since I’m outside awake anyway . . . 🌷😊

      • Well it was a cheap thrill at the time. Not that I was needing/looking for a sexy time. Haha
I have to admit that bringing my hubs to CCI does not make for a romantic time . . . at all. Most nights/mornings, we pull off our clothes and collapse in bed exhausted. I got more action sharing a room w/Kathy Jones as we listen to Mr A audiobooks.

        • Yes, there was a lot of action going on. I miss Mimi as a CCI roommate. I can’t believe she ditched me for her husband and dog. I am making do with daughters. No RA audio books for lullabies.

          • That’s an understatement! He is almost as popular with my girlfriends as Moby. Anne Elizabeth has t-shirts for everyone working her booth and she knows Alan’s size, (t-shirt size, get your mind out of the gutter woman! Haha) and while a bunch of us were in Anne Elizabeth’s hotel suite, right in front of everyone, he whips off the shirt he is currently wearing to put on one of the four shirts we are to wear at the booth. Not before waving the shirt he yanked off and wiggling around a bit first. I think Kathy Jones was there, my memory of everyone witnessing his shocking behavior is vague as my eyes were glued to his chest! (I know he’s my hubs, but he is still a sexy man.) Thinking back, I’m still a little shocked he did that. There might have been another male in the room at the time, but it was for the majority of the time, mostly us girls in her hotel suite.
FYI—he wasn’t working Anne Elizabeth’s booth, other than to move the occasional heavy box for us, or reach the top of the banner without a step stool or standing on a chair; tall sexy bastard.

              • Yeah, he is still Hawt, not that he doesn’t annoy the Eff out of me enough to make me want to give up 🍆 c0@|< . . . now and again. Although, he didn’t annoy me at all this week, he was sweet to all my girlfriends too, but he is easy that way. I appreciate him taking time to genuinely be kind to them all, that is his natural default and I have always liked that about him.

Anyway, how does that saying go? “No Matter How Hot and Sexy He Is, Someone Is Tired Of His Shit!”
                😊
I’m sure the same could be said for our mutual favorite attraction, if you know who I mean. Hahaha

                  • True, but I’m a sucker for a manly chest and long legs. Ugh, now I’m gonna reveal a terrible truth. 🤫 (shame) I tend to forget how annoyed I am when I’m distracted by certain attributes. (I can’t help it.) So, maybe I’m a little shallow. (I’m a bad person.) 😊

                    • Yeah, he is still my biggest weakness ever. One would think I’d be over him after all these years, but he seems to get better somehow. So I can’t quit him. 🤫
His biggest downside is that he still expects my undivided attention, especially when I need to get to work. Damn sexy man ruining my concentration, he makes me so mad at him sometimes. 😠 Men! I think they might be an alien species meant to torment women. With their long sexy legs and broad shoulders and scruffy chins and tasty kisses. I have *so* much work to get to today! Damn them! 🙃Hahaha

  2. Reference number 8
Elly Griffiths is a great author she writes about north Norfolk her main character is an archeologIst who gets called into police matters when bones are found. Dr Ruth Galloway is an inspired creation and there are nine books , I have loved every one , DCI Harry Nelson would be an ideal casting for RA as Nelson is a complex character. The stories are good but it’s the characters that Elly Griffiths has created that make you care. Highly recommended.

  3. ah, i’ve read the book and that teaser was just perfect-genuinely excited for this show. Without being rude about Coben-his writing is super simplistic-but his ideas are very clever-i literally didn’t put it down because I wanted to know where it was going. With Netflix-a hit show is one that is binged and I think that’s exactly what will happen with it.

Well done on managing the round up! can’t believe how quick the gifs and pics for The Stranger have appeared! lol
    number 4-lol
number 10 -well, you don’t really want to know what I have in mind! lol
    number 11 is really special!

    • Oh, that’s great to know, Rachel. I resisted the temptation to read this book, but I have read a couple of Coben’s books before. Can’t say that I was a particular fan, but I was not repulsed, either. I agree, though, that his ideas are really interesting.
I am actually hoping that Netflix is not going to make this a binge show. I’d much prefer it if it wasn’t released all in one go. But that’s old-fashioned me.

          • If it fits my schedule, I might binge it, but I don’t feel the need to keep up with the ‘good fangirls’ so it won’t bother me if I don’t. It took me forever to watch all of Castlevania and there’s still so much I haven’t seen. I guess it will suck about spoilers though.

            • I will definitely not binge. I mean, who has a life that allows 10 hours of uninterrupted watching on the release day? Also, frankly, I have more important things to do with my life than be the first to shout „I‘ve seen it all“. I find that aspect of the fandom off-putting, to say the least.

              • I didn’t mean binge as in watch all of it in one go. I guess I didn’t use the term properly in that sense. Even if I did have the time, I’m not sure I could do that. That’s a lot of TV.

I might get sucked into watching 3 or 4 in one go. I’ve done that on occasion, but it’ll only happen if I happen to have the time, the right mood and I won’t be shouting about it. I have zero interest in these competitions that inevitably creep into fandom. I’m totally with you there.

                  • Yes. Just like they have the need to stress that they have seen every performance and own every piece of merch available and have read all the interviews… the list goes on. Whatever. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have never felt that particular urge.

                  • I am planning to binge-watch The Stranger, not just because I doubt that I’ll be able to look away from his beautiful visage but because RA said at the RD Q&A that the success of a Netflix show is judged by how many episodes are watched at one time. I’d love his show to be a success and maybe lead to more high-profile work – although 10 hrs would be some undertaking.

                    • Hm, I had forgotten about that. I generally am not of the opinion that it is fan duty to promote “our man’s” works (at least not for free. If he pays me, it’s a different story 😁), but you are making a very important point there. I might do some three-part-binging then, watching as much as I can in a few sessions.

                    • Yes, I know what you mean about promotion, it would just be great though if he recieved some recognition – and globally. Perhaps we could watch in shifts!

                    • We could create a group Netflix account – somehow! – then one of us, say, does a three-hour stint, sign-out, someone else logs in – time differences would help. We could keep it going for months and it would become the most-binged show in Netflix history!

                      Like

          • yeah, ideally i wouldn’t want to watch it so quickly-but there will be so much rush and then chatter. Unless anyone wants to join me in a slow food movement style watch? lol

            • That‘s a great idea but I don‘t think we‘ll be able to hold off. We‘ll be swamped with pictures and gifs and clips – unless we go offline altogether. I suppose we have to just grin and bear it.

  4. Thank you so much for all the mentions! So many this week.
#9 I want to try to make more backgroundless pics. Any suggestions?
