2020 Armitage Weekly Round-up #36

In a complete switch-up of the usual MO, here is a Monday round-up… I somehow got sidetracked over the weekend, doing other things. The weather turned beautiful again over here – which is quite typical for Ireland. May and September are always the best (read: driest) months on our little island. So I spent some time outside, making use of the sunshine before the autumn will wrestle this mood-lifting outdoor life away from us again. But who says that a round-up can only be posted on the weekend? Let’s start the week with one instead.

  1. Kicking off with a giggling Claude Becker giffed by riepu10. Looking at that first gif, it looks so genuine, I wonder whether RA was *actually* laughing about something…
  2. A Thorin charcoal painting by created-by-simple-journeys that is somehow quite evocative
  3. This is a long list of comments on watching THDOS by lathalea. I didn’t read through the whole thing, but some of those quips were absolutely hilarious. Particularly the constant reference to Thorin being majestic…
  4. Just including this here because I was slightly amused by the bouffant coif. I think we have seen this before. Old photograph of RA posted by mzperx0506universe
  5. Antigonemorris is planning to do an analysis of Guy in different RH episodes. Tag along if you like
  6. For the woolly jumper aficionados among you, here is a comfy dark grey number. Oh, and there’s this handsome bloke modelling it. Gif set by mezzmerizedbyrichard
  7. A face for all emotions! Richardarmitagefanpage shares their screen caps from the DT Lock-in video with RA
  8. Alright, look at this direct comparison of brown-eyed RA with blue-eyed original. I definitely believe that blue suits him better. You? Posted by astrovian
  9. Thorin hair porn. There really is no apter way to describe it. Post by thewarriorandtheking
  10. Imagine if Thorin met Raymond… 😂 This is gold. Post by fizzyxcustard
  11. Riepu10 has also giffed some scenes from the DT Lock-in video. Check this one
  12. I’m delighted that mininottingham is so active at the moment. Here is a new scene. and it is hilarious in it anachronism
  13. *coughs* This is probably the staple scene for fangirls from TS… Thank you, riepu10, thank you 😍
  14. Piece of fan art for the Red Dragon by nilefreeman
  15. I don’t recall seeing this BTS from Hannibal before. It’s RA, Dancy and Mikkelsen going through a scene before shooting. Interesting to see. Gifs by mistikfir
  16. And here is harvest time in mininottingham!
  17. ROFL – finishing off with What a Guy Wants by nfcomics… animal, right!

Nice long list, right? Well, hope you have a great start to your week. I have a few catch-ups to do in terms of fan stuff, and then I am writing my first *big* fashion story for my new client. Guess what the topic of my article is? Designer face masks. 😂 Not kidding! I can tell already that I will either have lots of fun writing this, or it’ll die a creepy, sorry death 🤣

Cheerio,

Sonja ❤

    • Oh, you mean the one that they had me jump through several loops through; the photography teaching job? No, I didn’t get it, just as I had predicted. And it’s ok, I was somewhat reticent about a full-time, in-the-office job, anyway. Especially as the company really did not leave a good impression on me just by the way they treated me after the interview. I never even received a phone call to say “sorry, but NO”. I would’ve expected that much respect and courtesy from them – after all I invested about a day and a half of my own time, preparing for the interviews, filming a little instructive video, researching and creating a Powerpoint presentation. And then neither the company nor the recruiter had the decency to call me and tell me I hadn’t got the job. If that is their professional conduct, then I can only say I am glad I am not working for them… *rant over – sorry*.

      • it’s depressing how common that attitude is these days regarding jobs. When i was job hunting back in 2012 i was shocked at how many practices didn’t bother to tell me i wasn’t successful-dentistry is a small world and it just makes you think ‘yep, glad i didn’t get the job’

        • It’s just really bad form imo. I mean, I understand that they can’t always get back to every application they have received. But especially if you had been invited to an interview, I would expect them to repay the effort with a little bit of courtesy. It’s as you say, though – it leaves a bad impression, and it’s something that may actually make the rounds.

          • Actually, if we explicitly solicit applications, I get back to EVERY SINGLE APPLICANT at least once, usually twice: once to acknowledge receipt and in case we don’t want to see them to communicate that as well with best wishes for the future. The only people I don’t always reply to is spontaneous applicants for wildly unsuited positions we don’t even offer. I only have so much time. But to not notify someone you have interviewed? That is very poor form indeed. Shame on them!!

            • Well thing is , if you don’t bother getting back to the applicants to say they’ve not been successful then things fall through with who you do hire.. then you severely risk burning bridges if you want any of those applicants to then fill the role

            • I completely agree and understand that an employer wouldn’t get back to an applicant who “cold-calls”. Too much to expect. People are busy.
But yeah, even if they are busy, not letting an applicant whom they *personally* saw know that they haven’t got the job – kind of reeks of cowardice, too, if you ask me. It’s not an easy task, telling someone they were not good enough for the job. But hey, the least I would’ve expected was a formulaic “Thank you for taking the time to apply, to prepare the tasks and to talk to us in the interview. Unfortunately your application has not been successful this time. We wish you all the best for the future” by e-mail. Wankers.

  2. oh I love the BTS gifs from Hannibal!
RA’s thoughtful look while Will Graham is trying out the movement pattern… Maybe imagining how the scene will play out for the people watching while still standing in the middle of it all…

    • I love those snippets where we get to see actors preparing. I mean, we can *imagine* what it is like. But particularly something like this, where they practice movement, really shows how much of a collaborative job it is. Three people who all have to be on the same sheet in order to make it work. (And that’s just the people *in front* of the camera…)
