No Joke

Armitage House really exists!

Hehe, it never occurred to me that maybe my tumblr avatar (as seen in my recent anniversary post in the embedded first ever post on tumblr) might be mistaken as an edit. I have not doctored that picture. Neither have I snuck out at night with paint and brush. Contrary to popular belief (…), the Georgian door in the photo is *not* my very own front door. It belongs to a house of offices which is literally 4 minutes down the road from me. See the Dublin map above.

I have occasionally taken fellow fans who were visiting me, to “Armitage House” for a little photo-op. Below you can see myself and Abby in a photo from late 2014, doing silly poses in front of Armitage House.I’m not sure what Armitage House is named after. There is a solicitor’s practice in the building, but that’s all I know. But suffice to say I think it is hilarious that there is such a building in Dublin – and more or less next door to me. I really feel that Armitage should visit Dublin – and then take a photo outside the building. In case he is collecting more such ops:

There. That’s all. Just a fun Friday post. 😉

PS: Sorry I haven’t yet replied to all comments on the anniversary post. Working my way through 😊

  1. Another funny anecdote. Last year I worked with a supplier rep called Robert Armitage. Copied in the same email there was a colleague of his called Richard something. I had to use all my brain power in a telephone call to not fuse the two into the ONE person I was really thinking about 😉

  2. Aren’t there any film makers in Dublin who need to lure him across the channel? Or White Boar needs to produce something in Ireland. Heh, wait, wasn’t there a Bridget Something production in the works that was set in Ireland???

    • Plenty of talented filmmakers here (and an eminent production company literally next door to my house 😁). But thank goodness that awful Bridget Clery film is off the table. That really was a harrowing topic…

  3. Lucky you!!! THe Armitage house at your neighborhood!!! And you are so close to the greek embassy too. A soon as Richard comes to his Dublin house, just page me and we will visit him for tea and cookies (dreams dreams) You look nice at that photo.

    • Yep, Greek Embassy diagonally across the road from me.
That tea and cookies (or scones, since we are in Ireland 😉) idea sounds good. Not sure if we have to provide a cheese board for Mr A, though 😉
