Just a quick post. Gisborne, as we all know, is gorgeous. At least the variety that stalks on two shapely legs. But Gisborne, the town, delivers, too. I already showed you one of the pictures from last night’s sunset. Here’s another, complete with wild life:
This morning, however, I got up for early Golden Hour – that is the hour that starts a quarter of an hour before sunrise. I have a handy iPhone app that tells me exactly when that occurs, according to the coordinates where I am. So I got up at 6.30 am to be on the beach at exactly 6.43 am for the sun rise at 7 am. This is it:
Gizzy delivers. Both images are unaltered, un-photoshopped. Because I am on holiday and I couldn’t be arsed. And because it just doesn’t need it. Nature is always beautiful. Both in the sky and in human variety 😉

Unverstellte Natur! Großartig. Und zum Glück gibt es dies Info-Apps 😉 Wow, wenn das ein unzensiertes Iphonebild ist, bekommt man eine ungefähre Ahnung, was du tatsächlich an Farbexplosion gesehen hast. I.d.R isr es immer etwas enttäuschend, wenn man das Original durch den Sucher beim Handy anschaut.
Ich denke, für deine Bildershow mußt du dir deine Gäste später immer wochenendweise einladen, weil ihr sonst nicht fertig werdet. Da gibt es dann sicher verschiedenste Versionen vom Trailer, über den Kurzvortrag bis hin zum Directors-Cut (24h-Version).

Ne, nicht iPhone – immerhin schon von Marky Mark. Am iPhone mache ich sowieso kein Ps. Aber es ist schon erstaunlich, wie gut sogar die iPhone-Fotos werden.
Und nee, meine Gäste malträtiere ich nicht mit meinen gesammelten Urlaubsfotos. Du musst jedenfalls im Mai keine Angst vor einer stundenlangen Neuseeland-Diashow haben 😀 Vielleicht habe ich bis dahin aber dann wenigstens das Best of im Buchformat bereit… Blättern geht schneller.

😀 Neenee. Ich weiß selber ganz genau, wie stinklahm die gesammelten Urlaubsfotos von anderen sind. Hab ich weiß Gott oft genug angucken müssen. “Du magst doch Fotografie? Guck mal, das waren unsere acht Wochen Kanada…” *örks*

Das Glück hast du, weil ich dann in überschaubarer Zeit wieder abreise. 🙂 Aber nein, ich habe dich schon so eingeschätzt. Ehrlich, die schönste Bilderstrecke stresst den unbeteiligten Betrachter nach einer Weile. Und wenn sie dann noch chronisch personalisiert ist, kann es schonmal in eine Tortur ausarten. Ich will trotzdem was sehen…. 😀

The reflection of the light on the wet sand was just stunning. It really pays to get up early. I may do it again, tomorrow, even though I am not in Gizzy anymore.

Tolle Bilder, wunderbare Farben – wie kannst Du uns sowas zum Wochenanfang schicken? Da kommen sofort Wochenende- und raus in die Natur-Gefühle auf!! Abgesehen davon, dass wir wahrscheinlich 20 Grad weniger haben. Genieß die verbleibende Zeit 🙂

Yes. The campsite was right on the beach so I literally only had to walk for a minute to catch the spectacle.

Wow. That is gorgeous. And the canoers (are those some sort of canoe?) are a nice bonus. To think RA may have regularly seen stunning sunrises like this on a regular basis on the way to getting his ‘face put on’.
