Good evening all. We continue with the old tradition of mid-auction updates. The fundraiser got off on a great start yesterday. I was still uploading the last of the listings when the first bids were coming in. And the it kept „dinging“ all evening long. Thank you to all who have looked, put in a bid and shared on Social Media! ❤️
At this stage, 19 out of 28 auctions have received bids. At number 1 is Kate‘s magnificent Thorin set. Check her 🧵 on Twitter to get more information about the item. The set is currently at €132.50.
Following at number 2 is the coaster set, which has soared to €116.50. This item has received most views (136) and most bids (27). But also up there is the giant, personalised Toblerone, donated by Zed. If you haven‘t yet, read Zed‘s hilarious post on the Toblerone, with proper scale comparisons. With a RRP of €95, the current high bid of €81.50 is a steal 😉.
There are still 9 items that are at starting bid. So if you are feeling like a bit of shopping, can I bring these to your attention:
€ 10.00
€ 10.00
€ 10.00
Radio Times Magazine – June/July 2021
€ 10.00
TV Satellite Week Mag – April 2023
€ 10.00
Radio Times Magazine – April 2023
€ 10.00
€ 10.00
€ 10.00
€ 20.00
The question is – will we make a big milestone tonight? This is where we are currently at:
Not too shabby, right? But maybe we can take the four figure mark in our sights…
I have a new helper at hand, btw. This gorgeous little kitty moved in yesterday. We actually don‘t know whether he‘s a boy or a girl, and thus no name has been chosen yet. (My husband and daughter had some really awful name suggestions – ranging from „Pope“ and „Priest“ to „Part-time Punk“. What the actual…??? The kitten is really shy and we haven‘t yet touched it at all. It‘s eating and drinking, though, and has used the litter box, so it‘s doing ok. But if you have any suggestions and tips for new kitten parents, I‘m all ear. (I also take name suggestions, btw.)
Anyway, that‘s the 24 hour update. I‘ll be online all day tomorrow, by the looks of it. I have to work on a presentation for a training course, due on Monday. So I‘ll be checking in during the day, probably. For now – have a great weekend, and check out the listings ❤️
Ooooooh, you got a kitten! Adorable! I’m so pleased there’s a feline in the Guylty household again 😃 Loving the white whiskers… if it wasn’t the name of a cat food brand I think that would be a good name for either sex 😊
Well done on yet another great auction. Your hard work never ceases to amaze me

S/he also has these adorable white toes on all four paws… not quite socks but super cute. And a triangle of white fur under her chin. I just hope she‘ll snuggle in overnight – our house is not the warmest. If I could pick her up, I could show her the bed we made for her… And yes, it‘s lovely to have a new cat in the house. It just makes everything feel more alive…

If you leave a trail of kitten biscuits leading to the bed it might do the trick…🙂

I‘m delighted to report that kitten has found the warm bed this morning. I renewed the hot water and she is now snuggled in there. I‘m so glad because I was worried she would cool down too much.

How lovely little kitty 💕 Her/his name could be Slippers?

That‘s super cute – and would describe the little white toes perfectly. I like it!

The Thorin magnet made by Kate looks magnificent at the fridge.
Since the kitten has a collar, you can name him/her… Quart. But seriously as the kitten is shy mayby ‚mousy‘ could be a good name. Unfortunately, I have no good ideas for a name at the moment. Protos also starts with P since you seem to choose names starting with P. Does this kitten have white whiskers?

Hahaha, I love Quart!!! Maybe I should‘ve allowed Mr and Miss Guylty to name him „Priest“ (and secretly thought of RA instead 😂). Yeah, very weird, the fixation on names with P in it? Maybe because our surname starts with P?
Was delighted to see „Dublin“ on Kate‘s fridge…

A tuxedo cat? I love tuxies! Have one of my own, coincidentally named Paulie. Good luck with your new fur baby 😺 and continued success with the auction. Off to a gReAt start. 🙌🏻

„Tux“ is also a really cute name. I‘ll put that on the list!

Thanks for the pingback. My site is showing the pingback as waiting approval, but I can’t work out how to approve it from my phone. So apologies for technological incompetence on my part! 🤔🤦♀️

No worries, Zed. Great post, though. Sorry it took me a couple of days to link…

I managed the ping eventually – had to go into the website via my browser but I still haven’t sorted out default settings! 🤣 Please no apologies – busy college work and the whole fundraiser organisation! 🤩🙌 I’m very grateful for any promo! I wrote it quickly and it isn’t well thought out! 🤔🤦♀️

Yep, some settings are only reachable via browser on WP. Takes a while to get familiar with everything!

Very promising update! Aw the kitty is so adorabke. I am sure a name will come when you get to know one another ( love Quart!). It sounds like you are doing all the right things. All I can suggest is let him/ her come to you when it’s ready and make sure it has a safe place/ hidey-hole ( we got a kitten recently and it does make the home more alive – or lively!).

Yep, we are trying to let her keep her own space for now. At least she‘s eating and drinking and snuggling in her warm bed. It‘s a very windy day here today and not very warm in the house…
