Ah. The peace. The quiet. I have had a few wonderful days. Good news for the three poster winners Herba, Fufi and Rafaella: Your gifts are on their way and will hopefully arrive undamaged at your doorstep, soon. And after my rambling about “creativity” and “act of creation” and “contact” I have finally eased myself back into my creative space. I’ve been through a bit of a “creative revolution” you could say. The urge to *make* could not be suppressed. I had been hoping, I had been *waiting* for that to happen. And since I have to wait for the arrival of one of my commissions at the recipient’s before I can reveal it, I had to do some noncommissioned shrining to quench my creative lust. I can’t hold it in any longer. And I can’t wait to share, so I am throwing this noncommissioned RAPSi out here.
(Revolution calls for the great unwashed – hence the dirty backdrop. Had to look hard to find such a corner in my house. Not.) Another one of Mimi’s fabulous mini mint tins. Too funny to spray over. And who do you think should be enshrined in an anti-establishmeint RAPS? There’s only one…
There he goes, chopping through the rubble. The Chopster. This may be a bit premature. We know hardly anything of the finished product yet. But I read Urban Grimshaw and the Shed Crew, the book upon which the forthcoming film is based, and I know the rebel looks good among the rubble. This Instagram picture was an instant favourite with me. The composition. The light spill onto the face. The hidden curve of the arse. The tousled waves of his hair…
I think Choppie-Baby is a bit of a rebel. He likes a bit a weed. Not condonin’. Just sayin’. I really look forward to getting more material shown from the film. Not that I am a fan of the salt-and-pepper arse-cheater coat or the long-haired hobo look. But I can somehow relate to that character because I’ve known a couple of Chops in my wild time. And I look forward to seeing more of him. Ok, who am kiddin’? I look forward to seeing more of RA!
*coughs* This RAPS is not for everyone, I guess. But if you dare, it can be yours. It has the distinction of being the first ever Chop RAPS. (Those mini tins are really great experimentation grounds for new chaRActers.) For a change I am going to raffle this off over on my tumblr. I think I have neglected my initial stomping ground a bit. Won’t drop any more spoilers then, other than to say that he’s a bit of a shady character. Typical RA role choice. Either they are shady. Or called John. But that’s great if my RAPSi makes you want to see more of him 😀

Sparkly hearts, the obligatory disco ball and the rubble – very eclectic! The leaf as a warning, or an invitation – whoever wins this shrine better be bold! But then, is there a version of RA that we could resist? 😀

Autorenkino *LOL*. Das ist dann sozusagen ein Autoren-RAPS. Oder auf Englisch “Arthouse RAPS” *ggg*. RAPS für Fortgeschrittene. Das passt dann ja auch echt zu seinem zügigen Schritt im Bild.
Und Arschbetrüger ist immer gut für einen Joke, nech? (Wobei das Teil aber ja auch wirklich ein einziger Witz ist… Mann Mann Mann. Ich fand das schon original in den späten 80er Jahren unschön, und nun müssen wir uns das wieder angucken? Naja, läuft dann wahrscheinlich unter “period drama” LOL)

Fantastisch. Der Arschbetrüger ist also verantwortlich für deinen Fall ins bodenlose Aus der kompromisslosen Fan-Kommunikation? Da lobe ich mir doch den Arschbetrüger? Das Foto im oberen Teil des shrines hat mich auch sehr berührt, ein bad boy mit großem Herzen….warum finden wir das immer wieder so anziehend? ❤
Das Buch hat mich auch noch lange beschäftigt, kein Wunder, dass Du daraus einen Shrine machen musstest, sieht gut aus! und war offensichtlich nur eine Frage der Zeit….

Oh bad boys, bad boys… so unwiderstehlich für good girls… Wer auch immer da für UATSC Instagram bedient hat, hatte auf jeden Fall ein Fotoauge. Das Foto gefällt mir nach wie vor sehr gut. Das ist was für die Fotowand.
Ja, das Buch war durchaus lesenswert (auch wenn ich persönlich gar nicht mal fand, dass Bernard Hare da so gut bei rauskommt. Nicht wegen seiner Aktionen, sondern seiner eigenen Darstellungsweise.) Sozialdramen gehen natürlich immer ans Herz. Auch wenn’s Happy End gibt. Bin sehr sehr gespannt auf die filmische Umsetzung. Und insofern war es auch wahrlich kein Wunder, dass ich mir den Chopster in die Dose holen musste…

Ich finde auch nicht, das BH da gut bei weg kommt, mich haben beim lesen des Buches die sozialen Umstände schockiert, entsetzt, das Verhalten der “Kinder”,v.a. die emotionale Einsamkeit, die fehlende Schulbildung, darüber habe ich dann noch 2 Posts geschrieben. Denn das gibt es auch bei uns, auch heute noch, leider. Und ein happy end gab es ja nicht wirklich und nicht für alle kids, zumindest sind sie nicht völlig unter die Räder gekommen.
Aber ich glaube, dass der Charakter von Chop viele Facetten hat und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten bietet, hier war eine tolle Möglichkeit mal zu zeigen was der Mann so kann und das noch vor (zeitlich) The Crucible. Ich hoffe nur, der läuft auch bei uns im Kino, sonst müssen wir bei Euch einfallen 😉

Die sozialen Umstände haben mich gar nicht mal schockiert. Sowas ist mir aus Dublin auch bekannt. Die einzelnen Geschichten und v.a. die frühe Sexualisierung der Kinder dagegen haben mich stark berührt – sicher auch, weil ich selbst Kinder in dem Alter habe. Grauenhafte Vorstellung.
Ja, ich denke, der Stoff hatte das Zeug, RA mal so richtig aus dem Vollen schöpfen zu lassen. Und vor allem auch mal einen Mann zu spielen, der nicht mit Schönheit glänzt. Der vielleicht überhaupt nicht glänzt, sondern ein Normalo ist, der etwas richten kann. Vielleicht viel mehr Held als der nasse Gary, den RA in den ITS Interviews immer so hochgelobt hat. Da bin ich dann auch mal gespannt, was in den Interviews zum Urban Film so von ihm kommt. Unreflektiert ist er ja nicht. Da kann er dann mal zeigen, was er außer dem Department of Energy and Climate Change so im Tiefengang einlegen kann. 😀
Ja, wo das Ding dann wohl laufen wird… da müssen wir dann wohl auch die Augen offen halten. Nicht, dass das Ding kommt, wenn ich in Neuseeland bin *achduschreck*

Ja das habe ich auch gedacht, Sex um eine Form der Zuneigung zu erhalten oder zu geben, und das so selbstverständlich….
ich hoffe, er hat aus dem vollen geschöpft und Schönheit ist immer sehr subjektiv, warten wir mal wie er rüberkommt, schlimmer als bei Gary kann es nicht werden 😉 dann lieber “sehr individuell” als glattgebügelt – oder wie cramerry immer sagt, Nacktmull.
Wenn Du in NZ bist, müssen wir eine Kamera ins Kino schmuggeln und das Machwerk nur für Dich exclusiv aufnehmen…….

Der Fuller-Morris’sche Nacktmull ist letztlich auch egal, solange da noch RA drunter steckt :-D. So’n bisschen Chop-Stubble ist aber doch irgendwie feiner.

versprochen, ich werde es versuchen und wenn ich lebenslanges Kinoverbot bekomme war es das hoffentlich wert, d.h. ich muss in ein Kino in das ich sonst nie gehe ;-), hah ich besuche cramerry, das ist weit genug weg…. und wir begehen gemeinsam die schändliche Tat!

Das müsst ihr wirklich Spooks-mäßig planen, denn der Film läuft sicher nur im Programmkino. Mit nur durchschnittlich 5 Zuschauern pro Vorstellung :-D. Weia, wenn das dann auch noch im englischen O-Ton läuft, wünsche ich euch eine Simultanübersetzung dazu 😀

und bestimmt noch mit irgendeinem tollen Dialekt, der v.a. meine Englischkenntnisse ziemlich fordern dürfte, aber sogar die Schotten habe ich nach kurzer Zeit problemlos verstanden. DVD´s im Original gucken schult…….
Aber mit den 5 Zuschauern wird es natürlich schwierig mit der Kamera, aber wirsind ja kreativ, uns wird was einfallen, cramerry bist Du dabei?

Danke für den LInk, ja ich kann es mir gut vorstellen, besonders bei der Szene wo er im strömenden Regen steht und das Wasser vom Hut tropft….. 😉
Den ganzen Film habe ich auch gefunden,allerdings nur auf italienisch, dafür dürften meine beschränkten Kenntnisse kaum ausreichen, vielleicht finde ich ja noch die englische Variante….

Absolut sehenswert. Macht überhaupt nichts, dass der Film so alt ist. Es geht – wie immer – um menschliche Konflikte. Insofern hat der Film etwas deutlich pädagogisches. Hervorragend. Ein Meilenstein der Filmgeschichte.

Einhören, genau! Hilft wirklich. Ausserdem hilft N&S auch gegen Erkältung. Jaa, da staunt ihr, was? Gibt es zum Glück rezeptfrei bei amazon. Und weil das sooo gut tut, kam gestern die Frage nach einer N&S Variante zum Einreiben auf, gell Suzy? Das wärs, die Damen, oder? Der haptische Supergau 😀

It does. Although I think RA himself was not really that much a fan of his long hair, especially when worn in a ponytail. (“90s footballer” is how he called the look) He really looked yummy though at WonderCon when he was promoting ITS. Especially because he seemed to be sporting his own hair colour for a change… And that looked quite nice with his bright eyes…

Yes. It’s not dark brown or black as we have seen him since N&S, but more like what you see in Urban. I think…

His pics from WonderCon are some of my VERY favorites….. (Heather deserves lots of credit for that too, of course 🙂 He looked gorgeous and relaxed, and I love his hair on the long side…. probably not THAT much shorter than this!
